What'd I miss here? I have a pair of Aplus 11.1v 2200mah batteries (came with the hurri550). Put each on the KP-100W6, and there were some minor variances in the cells (one batt had a total var of about 5mv, the other was a LOT worse @ 125mv) Set the first to charge, then balance, and all came up OK. Did the same with the second, and it finished with a 50mv variance across the cells. I didn't think this would be a HUGE deal. Or was it?
I don't do ANY 3d yet, hell i'm barley brave enough for circuits with this bird -- so anyhow, put them in the Hurri, and spun it up to check tracking, cyclic, gyro etc. Only got up into a hover for about 15s, and maybe spent about 3mins at 1/2 throttle. I didn't use a timer, as I wasn't "actually flying" and everything seemed OK. When I got back to the bench to pull the batts out, #1 seemed just fine, but #2 was somewhat swollen. Put #1 on the charger, it only showed a very minor variance, and so I put 1100mah back in. Pack 2 is now showing as a 2cell pack? WTF?? This was the first use/charge/cycle. Did I kill the pack??
I have the logs from the charge/balance if anyone's interested in taking a deeper look. I'm just not sure what to do. Do I contact Fung or Aplus? Do I rack this up to noob stupidity, and buy a new battery? I've got 2x http://www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id...0&pid=C1436802 (http://www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id=B1018380&pid=C1436802) on the way to hopefully lessen the change of this happening agian, and I normally time my flights (on the CP2).
I also have a pair of Kongs @ 2200mah too, but before I go out and destroy them, I'd like to make sure I know where I went wrong!

I don't see where you did anything wrong....I would contact Fung....you may have gotten a bad pack.
Also...if you have the 1100w motor and the packs are less than 20c that's not a good combination...
But it sounds like one cell may have died.

They're 25C (AP2200XP - 25C 3SP1 - 11.1V on the label). I'm gonna email Fung, hope he can help me out. As long as its not me, I'll give the Kong's a go when the weather clears up. (I kno i know, the kongs don't puff, I just want to be sure it's not my technique!)
....It IS June right? Not October?!? WTF is with this chilly/windy FALL weather we're gettin?

LOL....Hey now MJ, play nice! Granted we like Dome homes, which are easily confused with IGLOOS, but really - You yanks had a FAR worse winter than we did this year! Heck it's been 26ºC to 35ºC here since late March (i guess in fahrenheight that's about 75 - 110F?)... it's just now that I'm ready to fly my hurri that the heligods aren't playing fair...
c'mon now, it's not like you're in Borneo with those other jokers...:YeaBaby: THAT I'd be jealous of !

I know teh packs I got from Fung were questionable... at least one was.. whe I charged them on my cheapo balance charger, one pack came out perfect at 4.19, 4.19, 4.19 the other came out as 4.20, 4.20, 4.08!! I took that pack and spun it in my 450 to discharge it and then charged in on a friends cellpro4. the pack balanced at 4.20, 4.20, 4.20 and after a flight all voltages were equal across the cells.. think I got lucky and took care of a problem before I flew the pack. this is the third set of Aplus I've heard of that one pack in the set had a poor cell. can't wait til I get some extra cash so I can order a few 6s zippy's.. at least I know Zippy's and HXT lipos are good packs and all cells balance equally

I have not seen anyone report more than a few cycles - 20-50 on the zippies. Did I miss something?
The jury is still out on my next packs.
I need more batteries!

you didn't really miss anything.. but I have heard that the zippy's are every bit as good as the HXT.. and I have over 50 cycles on my HXT packs and they're still going very strong. besides, for the price, they can't really be beat. of course, with hobby city, the more you buy, the more you save because you get lower prices the next time you order...

I have 42 flights on my Aplus's and still going strong, more on my KP's but have had HXT's that lasted less than 20 flights - there does seem to be an element of luck with most makes

I have just sent my 25C 2200 APlus packs back to fung as well. Maybe 20 flights - if that.
Voltage was droppiny after a few minutes to an un-flyable state. :(
Hope he replaces them as he says he needs to test them first - even though i sent the Eagle Tree logs of the flights..
Ordered the $199 Kong Power + 2 2200 packs deal from Ready Heli in the mean time.

Wow, I have nearly the EXACT situation with my APLUS batteries that came with my Heli from flying-hobby. I thought I goofed, however, by running the heli on the ground for about 3 minutes without first charging them. However, now that I think about it, Voltage was Cell 1 = 3.84, Cell 2 = 3.84V and Cell 3 = 3.72V AFTER that run. AND the other battery has remained perfectly balanced in both a fully charged state and immediately post flight.
Until now, 3 cycles later, that .12V spread has narrowed to about .05V difference. I did just send an email today to flying-hobby.com customer service, and we'll see what they say.

Well, Fung just told me to send him the bad one and he'll take care of things. I am going to wait until I get my new 3300's from Hobby City first, however. I can't bear the idea of no flying at all until the new ones arrive!!!

Dang.. I was wondering why I hadn't heard back yet, checked my sent-mail, and DUH... apparently I didn't send the email I wrote :arggg: - in my rush to pack and go camping last weekend I didn't hit send!
Well, here's hoping... OH.. and as for those KP's ... on the first attempt to charge on the KP100 with the 6S bridge and the diagram in hand, the balance plug arc-ed and melted, and I'm waiting to hear back from KP and ReadyHeli. Are the heligods against me or something? Maybe there are lipo gods too? :dontknow What gives?
Think I'm gonna have to get the CP2 FrankenBird off the bench in the meantime, those little esky packs are $12 and I've had 'em for 2 years!
