View Full Version : Does JR X9303 2.4GHz BUZZ?
My DX7 buzzes like crazy, and it is kind of noisy when I stayed up late at night. I called Horizon Hobby’s tech support, and they told me that it is normal!!!? I‘m thinking about selling it, and I want to get a JR X9303 2.4GHz. My old JRx347 does not have any buzz at all. However, before order it, could you, the owner of JR X9303 2.4GHz, tell me if you can hear any buzz from the transmitter when power is applied? Some time you may have to put your ear right next to the transmitter to hear the buzz. Thank you very much for your help. :noteworthy

All Spektrum buzzes. I listended to a dozen DX7's and they are buzzed. My Spektrum module in my standard 9303 buzzes as well. It's just Spektrum.
If you want a perfectly quiet radio get a Futaba FASST. My new 12Z w/ 2.4 is dead silent.
Thanks for helping me to listen to the buzz. I'll reconsider to get a Spektrum related product.

The amount of buzz varies from radio to radio. It seems to be mainly caused by the regulator during the current peaks when the radio transmits. My x9303 was very quiet, changing the regulator to a switching one completely eliminated the noise. My 12x was quite loud(annoyingly so in a totally quiet room) I've since changed the regulator to a switching type and it takes effort to hear it now.

Wow, that's a good news. However, I still don't see the picture, and I may have to open my DX7 again to see if it has switching or linear regulator. I think switching power supply would make audible noise if the wire in the inductor got loose. I just sold my brother's DX7, so I cannot compare it with my DX7. It seems that mine got very lound noise (I may had paid to much attention to that noise). Well, could you clarify a little more on your replacement, and "a picture is worth a thousand words"?;)
Thanks.
