Where is the main needle usually set. We had to run one in to 3/4 of a trun to get the motor to make any power. THe engine still was no getting hot.

I ran my PS at about 7/8 turn on the main needle. And the optional mid range needle I had at 1 1/2 plus about 3 clicks clockwise. If you can run the main needle at 3/4 turn and the motor runs OK and you don't have the mid range needle. Then I would say that motor is a good one.
I am using Cool Power 30% LS.
