The Blue Ridge Mtns of NC cordially invite you to attend a two day fun-fly and crash clinic located in Arden/Asheville,NC. Home of the highly acclaimed Erickson Flight Skool and Heliheads flying field we welcome anyone willing to sacrifice their helicopters in the pursuit of a good time.
The event will start Friday, August 29th at 5pm and continue through Sunday August 31st 5pm. We have limited space for camper / rec vehicles- no hook ups. A $10.00 landing fee for pilots will include a Saturday feast.
Mr. Henry Caldwell a graduate student from EFS will be on hand to demonstrate all his skills obtained during his tenure at EFS, as well as other notable pilots and instructors !! I will post directions and lodging locations later. This is a helicopter only event due to limited space at our field. I have contacted Will James and hope to have the Helifreak Gang on hand to record the impending chaos and crashing that is most expected at this humble event. RSVP's are welcome and appreciated. For those that may actually think that they are coming to this event to learn something about flying -- you are sadly mistaken ! We hope folks will take advantage of the long Labor day weekend and come join us. For the wives and kids we are but 5 miles from the Biltmore Estate and 3 miles off the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway. Escape the heat of the dog days of summer and come cool off for a great event !

We can probably all pitch in and pay Eyeflyheli's $10 fee - Besides, the entertainment value of watching him crash his entire fleet of helis is well worth it in my opinion.

Mr. Brown,
The average high temp in Asheville is 84 and low 62. If that seems to be a bit chilly for you perhaps you and Mr.Caldwell can snuggle by the fire pit on Saturday night ! Sure to be a crowd pleaser.

Well, hopefully work does not prevent me from doing anything that weekend. Still a tad early to tell. But I would love to go. My main problem is I don't trust my truck on an out of town trip right now. So if you want to carpool, let me know. I'm fine with camping under the stars. I may smell good coming home though. Your helis can have the car, just strap me on the roof. I'll wear a helmet to keep the bugs out of my teeth.

Welp. finally ordered my AMA membership last night. Will have card in time so if I feel like crashing in front of a BIG audience, I can do so.

Will be going up Sat for the day. Hope to meet more of you freaks there. We need a tent with a HF banner or something hanging on it as a gathering place for freaks. Come one Will, you must make it. Then we can all crowd around your pits/camp and pester you.

Any updated directions? I could Mapquest it but the last time I did that Mapquest made a "small" computational error and what was noted as 2.8 miles ended up be 28 miles. Not the END of the world but did make me question/2nd guess online directions. Also one time I was getting "Fastest Route" to an airport and it send me DownTown to the airport's "Business Offices" instead of to the airport itself (about 45 minutes difference). Oh well.. live and learn... anyway.... directions?
