Is there any one that are using this tank with the 60K Cline carb?
It says that you should use STRATUS PRESSURIZED FUEL TANK if you pressurize it with the crank pressure. What is the difference? Why cant the non pressurized tank work?

Fredrik,
The tank that has the black cap is the non pressurized tank. When that tank has been used with the YS motor or the OS motor with Cline setup. Both of these motors use crankcase pressure to pressurize the tank. Even installing the black cap on the tank like was stated in the instructions. The cap would blow off the tank in a few flights.
The YS and OS/Cline motors pressurize the tanks to about 6 PSI.
You will need the tank that has the cap the same color as the tank to use with crankcase pressure motors. This tank has a cap that screws on with more and deeper threads.

Ok David.
Then I have to order one..... :arggg:
Why doesnt MA include that in the kit :?:
Feels stupid to have to specify what tank your going to have.........

Howerd 3 tanks today with the non pressurized tank without blowing it.
Could not resist since I finished the building today
I sealed it with construction silicone though. Hope the tank hold up........

Frerick,
I did too. For about a half gallon. Then it started leaking with the cap still snug. Hover if you like with the non-Nalgene tank, but you'd be foolish to fly it around upstairs.
The non pressurized tank is still preferable for those running muffler or PS motors as it has a lower profile appearance and works fine for those applications.

Dr. Ben, I'm going to install the cline carb in my OS 91 and I have the tank Graupner GR237 17.5oz for the Stratus (please have a look at: http://www.hobby-lobby.com/fueltank.htm
As far as you know do you think that tank can hold the pressure needed for the cline modified engine?
Thank you

Marcello,
There was a guy on RR that used that tank with a YS engine. All reports that I saw were that it worked well. I considered one myself and was only put off by the lower capacity. I get close on fuel in Schedule B of FAI in hot, sticky weather unless I can wedge 18 full ounces in the main tank plus several more in the header.
Oh............I also had Dave Wilshere in the UK confirm that the 24 ounce version wouldn't fit. Darn.

Ben,
thank you for the infos. I know that the capacity is not ideal, but only 1/2 ounce less that the one provided by MA. Anyway I generally fly for 6-8 minutes and then refill, no competition and the like (for the moment): I hope 17.5 oz should be fine for short flights. At tne moment I don't use header thanks, but I'm thinging to put one in the future.
