Why wont my 60 clutch disengage. I took the motor out and put a paper shim in to try and get the arms from touching the fan. That didn't seem to have helped. I thought I had a motor that wouldn't idle, so I tried another, and same thing. Once you try to idle the motor down, it just kills. What else can I check or do?
Should I check for slop in the start shaft? It might be hanging down just a little. Is the gap toleranced pretty tight?
