I was gonna put it on my avatar, but that would be like thread-jacking.
What do you say I add a pair of main blades to it?
...and let's keep them guessing for a while, eh?? ;-))

Wow! - Bad thought - panic -Google!
I did a search for the term, did'nt find anything. Whew! had a bad moment there that it might mean goat-abuser in Greek or something.
I think there is a Germanic word spelled the same, but can't find a definition, maybe Pete can help us out, just to be on the safe side.

Perhaps you are thinking of the German word "heli" that has a bad taste to it, because it was used to greet Hitler before and during the second WW.
It actually means the same as "Hil Cecar" - Heil Cecar - a greeting, or a praise.

Absolutely. You are the official owner. I hearby reliquish all rights and grant sole ownership of Helistai (TM) and it's likeness to Gr4yb3ard. Would be a great Avartar. Would like to see a lot of people using it.

Hokay,
A slightly modified, more heli-specific version on the way....
Pete and Gene, thanks for the assist! You don't know what this is for... < slight hand movement > ...You have forgotten seeing this for now... < Jedi voice >.
But the lads have been up to no good. And yes, a certain Mr. Buzzkill has spilled the beans! But it was good to get a lanquage check on a new (made up) name.
I think a bit of non-niceness adds a nice touch. Don't care for Nazi reffences, but since is stems from latin, sorta works, we were going for in that direction. After all, I have heard that the swaztika was originally an American Indian symbol, co-opted by the creeps...
Whatcha think Buzz? Keep the name or work on it some more? I'll get back on the logo and add the rotorblades....

Sweet, rotors are anice touch.
Gr4yb3ard, your idea of making that your avatar is a great idea. Can you imagine if we all made it our avatar? I'd bet after a couple weeks of that avatar poping up all over people would start to notice. You could start a revolution my man! Heli Power!

Ya know, you guys are okay....
This has become my favorite place to cut up and relax.
I've tempted the boundries, but so far Heli-Freak has been pretty even handed, just a bit miffed that one of my bud's got dinged recently, but I'll assume that was a mistake.
Nice to find a forum where you can be yourself.
At this point, I'd say it's safe for us all to play psuedo-anarchists, wear berets and march in the streets. Again, look at the numbers, we've got more and more new 200 pilots joining!
I firmly believe in helping others and using humor to get the point across, this is supposed to be fun. I think we're getting there...
Thanks for all the PM's, Yes, I will eventually serialize the adventures of Greybeard, the time-tripping pirate. Yes, I did whack the ceiling, but it was with the Blade 400, not the GAUI. YES! We will finish up the logo and issue Helistai memberships!!!
Buzz, Pete, Gene, members 1,2,&3. (warrants already on the bench)...
I'm going to poke a bit more fun and then go burn up every pack I got at the field!!!

Aaargg!,
Saturday afternoon already, and I note that 'me still not booted off the site.
Must be some lack of congruence twixt 'me best efforts and they's minimum expectations, or such like that....
What to do????
...hand-grenade in the fishtank?... naw, that's good about once...
...pull the pantry door off, strap on some jets, jump out of an airplane, and fly to Scottland?... naw, I've yet to get certified for the jumping out part...
...amble over to Martinique and look up that little dark-haired lass?... naw, with these winds, it'd be 'bout Tuesday before I got there...
....huh, OH YEAH!!! FLY 200!!!!...

Ah, that was nice!
I just burned about 6 packs, beautiful weather, almost no wind. It simply does not get better than this.
Since I've been yapping on this thread, and my buds are all here, let me relate the three following items:
First off, Yes, we need a slogan. I like Pete's suggestion, but think we should let all the <other> crazies weigh in too, before making a decision ;-)
It sounds to me as if Buzz and I have hit a nerve here! I like the idea of a group that transends the forum itself. Shall we say aspiring 3d pilots in training? Also intelligent, vocal folks from all walks that don't care for too many, err, unnecessary rules, enjoy chatting with open minds...
(bearing in mind appropriate safety and good manners, of course...)
Let's get the logo done, Buzz, is there any chance the root source of that image was copyrighted? We'd best look into that now, or go back to pen and paper for the next cut.
Second: Why is it that I get such responses from folks across the pond? I've been international for years now, but it seems like my best aquaintances either come from the northeast US, or GB/Northern Europe? Also, my ancient friend count (over 25yrs) consists of an ex-RAF pilot, a New Jersey fireman, Belgian tax accountant, an ad agent, (also NJ, also Italian), and a NYPD cop. Go figure on that one, I've got no clue.
Third: This was a beautiful day. I've not risked my little GAUI upside down yet, but things are going well. I mentioned to ChopperSuey, when he posted his sim for RF, that my bird was a bit twitchier. Well, now the shoes on the other foot! My 200 is more stable than the sim, and I don't think I've grown that much in my flying abilities.
I attribute much of this to freeing up the head, making sure all the links are fitted correctly and the vibration is to a minimum.
It's a blast to fly, I would say that my 450se is a good comparison. That says a lot. I no longer consider the 200 to be twitchy or unstable, actually, it seems to be a benchmark of sorts. The darned little thing just goes on, and on, with no problems.
Sure I've replaced some crash damage, but $50, $80 total so far!! Good grief, at this rate I doubt that my 600 will ever be replaced once it's obsolete.
More fun, less money, less headaches. The 200 class is just right in my book, and the GUAI 200 is IT!.

Could be. The "fist" is actualy from the "black power" movement in the 60's. The idea certainly isn't coined as hundreds of groups around the globe has used the image but, I did use a picture from the web as a reference. Perhaps we should make another "original" fist.
Great that you've gotten so many good flights in. I've only went through one pack all weekend. Not like me at all.
