AllisonRose, it looks like some of us NOVA pilots are having an impromptu gathering at VARCHA (http://www.varcha.org/) this Sunday (June 22, 2008). If your radio is 2.4, we would welcome you to join us. Our experience runs from hovering beginners to mild 3D.
The club cannot currently allow 72MHz radios. That restriction should be lifted soon.

BTW isnt the admission cost 50 bucks?

As I understand it, the club charges $50 one time and $65 per year. However, AllisonRose is welcome to fly as my guest, once or twice.
Also, the 72MHz restriction is lifted. However, the 72MHz flight line takes a small walk to get to (about 100 meters [300 feet]).
Anyway, there is an impromtu gathering forming this Friday, July 4.

Why did they restrict 72mhz and make them fly on a different flight line?

There is another club just under 3 miles away. AMA rules are that you must be 3 miles from any other club unless you:
Make a frequency sharing agreement (the other club refused).
Restrict to 2.4 (or, I assume, any non-conflicting radio).
The other flight line is over the 3 mile limit.
