All,

I'd like to guage the interest in an aluminum case (similar to Haliburton) that would be just large enough to house the 200, TX, Batts, Charger, and a small Tool & Spares box.

I'm almost ready to post the results for an inexpensive version +- $70, and am talking to a manufacture regarding the possibility of producing a pro version (rugged, international shipping, etc.) +- $250.

Let me know your opinions, it would be nice to walk into thier office with some potential sales figures.

I have my 200's in TRex kit cases, the small alloy one the TRex kit comes in. Fits nicely with the Lipos. I keep my TX in another case, then I just pick up the bird to fly and the TX and Im good to go.

Use the little Align "tool box" as mentioned by Dave above.
Fits perfectly.

I think it would be great to have custom cases available for the G200. Especially having foam professionally cut to fit.

My biggest concern with saying "yes I would buy these cases" is that I have made no modifications to my blades or grips to make them fold better. That being said, I have been looking for a case that has >20" on one side, so I could fold my blades 90deg like when checking pitch to fit in the case.

I have been shopping cases and trying to come up with a game plan to meet my needs.
One option I have been thinking about is getting some new foam to fit my Align 450 case, cut it out to fit the G200, Tx, & accessories, and just swap out foam inserts depending on which helicopter I am carrying.

I have also been shopping a couple of pelican cases.

^this case^ is thier smallest with a >20" internal dimension. I almost pulled the trigger on this one the other day, but decided to hold off and shop around a bit.
(this case will not fit a 450)

The 1650: http://www.pelican-case.com/1650.html
^this is the pelican case most use for the Trex 450. This case fits the 450 with lots of room to spare. I am not sure but I might be able to fit the T450 & G200 + Tx + accessories in this case. Or I could get a couple of sets of foam and have this case pull double duty also.

As most know the Align case is certainly not shipping or air travel worthy. It works good for going to the field or throwing in your trunk, this works for me as I don't see myself traveling a lot with the 450.

The Gaui on the other hand... I actually bought this bird for traveling. I got into RC helis b/c of work. I test cars WAY up north in the middle of nowhere all winter long. We have a couple of nice big garages to fly in up there (and unless you like Ice fishing there is absolutely nothing else to do). Usually shipping is not a problem as I just throw all my heli crap in a box, then I throw it inside a car that is being shipped up... But I would feel a whole lot better if I knew my only source of winter entertainment was safe and secure in a nice case.

just my $.02 :cheers

I sure wouldn't spend $250 on a case for the 200! Go get a pelican box for that much money I could fit my 500 a 450 and probably both of the 200's in there. And it will never break!

I was at Harbor Freight one day and saw a good case for the 200. It's 17"x12"x5.25" inside, with foam, and under $30. The 200 fits very well with room to spare.

I just bought the Harbor Freight case as well (they are on sale this week) and have been using an identical one for my Tx, Charger, and accessories for a few years now. These cases are available at Lowe's as well. They range from $20 to $30 and work great.

I ordered an align 450 case from flying-hobby a couple days ago and I hoping I can fit my Tx, 200 and lipos in it. If not then at least the 200 and accessories, then I'll get another case for my Tx. I just wanted something to haul it around town and what not. I'm looking forward to being able to toss it in the work truck when I'm forced to do installs so I can at least stop for a quick session and make the install worth while.:bad

I got 4 of them from Home Depot. Works like a charm. You can fit two of them in there,

I'm in. The Pelican is a good option, but they're heavy and bulky so a pro quality aluminum would be great.

Well, from the votes, I'd say you and I are the only ones.

I'll get back to the less expensive containers for the hobby, call AmeriCase if you want a good box though. Well worth it....

BTW, are you working in Langley??? (noted address)

Thanks for the lead Gr4yb3ard.
No on Langley. I live on the upper Rappahannock near the Blue Ridge mountains. Nice country. I lived in Yorktown ( near Langley) in the early 90s and had several engineer friends who worked there. Interesting group.
