I see a couple places sell the main gear without the bearing installed which is much cheaper then the $10 version with the bearing already installed.
How do you get the whole bearing out of the nylon gear?

Typically, there is a special tool, though I've not seen one for the 200 as yet.
One part is a punch which presses the one-way, the other is a tube that supports the gear, and allows the one-way to fall through.
On some setups like this, I've used two appropriately sized sockets, and a rubber hammer, worth a shot if you can find the right sizes...

Gr4yb3ard,
I agree the sockets have always worked for bigger heli's. But this is an odd one, the top of the gear is molded right over the one way bearing with just the shaft hole present, so there is no way to tap/push the bearing down. Can't find a picture of the top but I'll post one tonight. Of course a dremel and a cutting wheel would make quick work but I figured there would be an easier way. Strange I thought if they sold a main gear without a bearing, it would be a piece of cake to replace.

Take the gear out of the heli, insert the main shaft into the oneway, turn toward the locking position and while holding pressure against the "lock" pull and the oneway comes right out. It is not a tightly pressed fit requiring special tools.

AWESOME!!!!!!! It worked.
Someone should make a FAQ on this heli, it's tips like this that are a god-sent!!!
Of course, now when putting it back together, there is a rounded side with HF0304 stamped and a squarer side. I think the rounded side of the one way goes in first, then the bearing with the closed race out.

Very nice!
I'm glad this worked out well. Now the big trick is to put the one-way back in the correct orientation.....
....no, <that's> never been done wrong before... ;-)

LMAO I've spent more tha 30 minutes trying to get that gear out before giving up. Ordered more main gears for the SD when I could have used the "old" ones by flipping the oneway bearing and removing the pulley flange :arggg: Thank for the tip!!

It wasn't until I noticed in the sd manual that you have to flip the gear when going from belt to sd that I started tinkering with it and was able to get it out. Else I would have ordered more gears too. Glad it helps out. :YeaBaby:
Thanks Jetleaf for the great tip on removing the one way bearing!
This should be a sticky!

I worked for a long time trying to get the one way out.... then realized that since the main gear is shot anyways, why not just cut the main gear off of the one way bearing!!!! It took about 30 seconds --- I used a wire cutter to remove main gear..... a easy, quick method... Hope this helps....

What Main gear part number should I order for the 200 TT version? I see there are two main gears on ReadyHeli. I haven't got the heli yet (shipped yesterday) but I am trying to order a few replacement parts.

Thanks, I just ordered one.

I think this the main gear you are referring to - http://flying-hobby.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=3_5_8&products_id=16
DO NOT buy this gear. Its for the EP100 plastic version which does not use a bearing. The gear is clamped directly to the main shaft on this model.
I too had assumed it was just an EP200 gear minus the bearing but I was wrong.
