So I took the Rex450 and Logo 500 out to the field for some flying and some tail setup on the Logo. I flew the Rex first to get warmed up and it had terrible power and a screeching noise if I hit throttle hold and added blade pitch. So the Rex is down for at least head dampeners and probably some bearings.

No problem, I'd rather fly the new Logo anyway. While hovering I have some vibration on the tip of the vertical tail fin. I landed, checked some things, and adjusted the tail control rod to get a better center position. When I went to take off apparently I didn't have the throttle stick all the way down or I moved it when I hit the hold switch...soft start my @$$! The heli spasmed and whipped around 180 degrees as the motor ate the main gear before I hit hold again. :Slap :bomb:

The main blades apparently got twisted all the way back until they hit the main grips and the flybar paddles. So that leaves a few more nicks in the back of the carbon blades. :arggg: The damage as I can see it is the main gear, flybar paddle covering torn, flybar rod has a slight "S" shape now, and I'm guessing the main grip spindle is bent as well. One thing that has me confused is that one of the tail grip links also popped off. I'm not sure how that happened because the tail blades don't have any damage. I need to order my stuff because I don't have a local supplier. Is there anything else I should check before placing an order?

I would pull it apart before ordering to make sure you getting everything. A few times just inspecting has caught me out, often missing things.
What ESC is it? I wait about 5 sec before restart as otherwise it will spin up the rotors very fast and the above may happen

I'm using a Phoenix 80 with a Tango 45-10. I stick programmed it before and just got a Phoenix link the other day. The stick programming says that fixed throttle curves is for airplanes and helis. When I hooked up the Phoenix link it was set to Airplane fixed throttle curves and there was another option for heli fixed throttle curves. I'm wondering if there was some firmware update that wasn't in the manual and soft start was disabled because it was in airplane mode. :dontknow I hope the Phoenix link programming fixes that problem.

You need to use the castle link to get the most out of the soft start function.
Works ok in heli fixed endpoints, but works really well in gov mode.
Once you get the hang of using the castle link software its pretty easy to set up.
They are suppose to be bring out new software shortly to make it even better..

Yeah, when I set up the heli I didn't have the Phoenix link so I just set it up with fixed point curves. I plan to set up the governor using Bob's video on the HV85.
