New Skids

Just installed a set of the Walkera #53 skids. I like them. It makes the heli sit higher. I think I might cut down the skids to make it more in proportion but the height of the struts are good. Have I told anybody today that I just love this heli!!!:thumbup: Just flew two packs practicing L/R side in hover. Left side is going good but right-side is still a little trouble. Also trying to get my throttle and pitch curves where I like them. I watched the Bob White video on curves which helped but still tweaking. I love this heli! The 200 just looks better sitting up higher imo. But I think all rc helis sit to low and have undersized landing gear. That looks great. Nice job.

Thanks Jetleaf! I had to counter-sink the holes I drilled so that the original screws from the original struts would screw into the frame. Does anyone know if I can use thread lock on the screws going into the carbon frame? I have a few screws that are not getting tight. Thanks!

Put the big Gaui sticker on the canopy. so it does not look so "bare" :roll:

psindrup.....Believe me I want too but not sure if I'm going to add any more color to the canopy. I kind-of like the plain-jane neat, clean and simple look. I'm ordering another canopy that I'm going to strip and redo. Do you think I should cut down the skids to be more in proportion? Maybe the same lenght as the original skids. What do you think? Thanks!

Try the Gaui skids if they'll fit? That way you don't have to cut the ones you have.

I don't think that they look that much out of proportion, but try Buzzkill's suggestion.

Thanks Buzz....didn't think of that. I was actually going to try to put the old Gaui landing gear on my Hirobo Quark. I'll try out the Gaui skids with the Walkera struts and see how it looks. :thumbup:

I like the Quark much better than the CX2 that I have. Quark is a little expensive but worth it. Good Hirobo quality.
