nice, I've been thinking about that body, how tough is it to change batteries though?

The entire nose comes off, in pic #2 above you can see the split right below the swash, the whole unit pulls apart and is held in place with 2 plastic dowel pins up top and 4 magnets, very nice strong design.
DrUAE, I installed the retracts but have not put the servo's in yet, did you try the retracts? just curious if I'm in for a challange, always love those

Well, the reason i did not install the retracts is that i tried the same system with Airwolf, sometimes if you have a slight tough landing, the retracts will go inside and after a while, you will lose its retraction movements, and that damage will be because of the servos gear or the retract arms being broken, so you have to take everything out to replace the servo or the retract arm specially if you have a problem with the rear ones because the servo for these retracts located at the rear end behind the main frame so, i prefered the skids. But im with you, with retracts it looks beautiful specially when they are functional.

Remove the magnetically attached nose section.

DrUAE,
I am like you too, I have a heliartist Airwolf but I have fitted with large landing skids instead of the retract system. I am worry when I have to land quickly, landing skids are safer. Now I've just ordered a heliartist Coast guard like yours to match my CopterX 450 V2, I am also going to install the landing skids as well. Could you post some pictures of how did you install the frame to the fuselage, because I want to do the same. Thanks
