This unit looks quite similar to it's smaller brothers, I have two 35X's in my T-Rex 450's. But I thought I'd ask, what settings do you guys recommend for the low time, Rookie pilot?

I was thinking the following:

Brake - Position 1, disabled (I'm assuming this means when you're spinning down the motor could actually work for you to slow the rotors down??)

Electronic Timing - Position 2, Mid-Timing - Not sure here at all, maybe #1 at Low Timing?

Battery Protection - Position 2 - Middle Protection - I'm going to try to run my HR Poly Lipo alarm with this setup but it's only rated up to 4 cells so we'll see if I can get it to work or not; but Position 2 seems like a good place to start here

Aircraft - Position 2 - Helicopter 1; no Governor

Throttle Response - Position 1, Standard but maybe #2 at Medium Speed?

Thoughts?

Happy Flying!

those are the settings I run...you DO NOT want low timing... mid will work best for you..

MM, you're the man! Funny, the settings are therefore the same as both my 35X's, 1-2-2-2-1 for setup.

Note: I tried a Scorpion 45 Commander ESC in a 450 and it lasted exactly 1 flight. I'm sure this particular unit was the exception as a lot of people use them with no problems but I was lucky to not loose my helicopter as a result of that POS and it sure didn't boost my confidence in their line of ESC's! I did get my money back but decided to stick with my Align and I'll put a BEC in the mix since I'm running a Scorpion -8 motor on that bird which is a Heliartist Scale 500D T-Rex 450. The Align's I've had have all been spot on so I'm hoping the same for the 75 amp'er.

I wonder why the 60 amp model is $92 and the 75 is $90; that threw me for a bit of a loop and the crew in the store were confused as well... Lighter and newer technology maybe? No issue for me but I thought it was interesting...

Thanks and Happy Flying!

so far I'm very happy with my align 75... as far as the 60 costing more.. wonder if it has a built in BEC.. that could explain the price difference
