View Full Version : New V-bar unit coming?

I looked around and it seems the V-bar units (MIK4010) are out of stock just about everywhere. Does this mean the new version will be arriving soon? I'm guessing based on previous threads and news that the price probably won't drop for US customers.
EDIT: Maybe there is not a new V-bar unit coming out and it was only the price drop I was thinking about where you get the external programming unit for free if you buy now before the price drop.

I'd buy one if they would knock off $400

Well I hope they make some real fast. I was planning on getting one when I come back from overseas in a month.

Just added an edit to my original post since I may be thinking only of the price drop with free external programming unit if you buy now - too lazy to grep for the old info. Still not sure if the US will see a price drop because of the weak dollar but hopefully there is some news soon to help give me incentive to make the switch to flybarless.

Once you go over to the Dark Side there's no going back :YeaBaby:

The only thing I'm afraid of is that I'll forget how to fly a flybar'd helicopter after switching over to fly-by-wire. Oh wait, I still have my T450.

Na its not much difference. After flying a flybarless heli for a while you can appreciate what the flybar is doing for the head. Not that its better just a new appreciation.

Really??? Man I feel it's very different. Then again I am comparing a flybarred Align 600e to a Vstabi 5003d but they are very different animals to me.
For example my 5003d requires completely different gimbal moves in a simple turn. Perhaps you do this without noticing it? Also the 5003d maintains it's orientation for a long time, whereas the flybarred heli tends to change it's orientation. For example in fff the flybarred heli wants to pitch up after awhile, whereas my 5003d will simply keep going fff until I pull up. Or in a sideways slide the flybarred heli will begin to exaggerate it unless I counter, whereas the flybarless will tend to keep the slide constant (to some extent). Don't you see this behavior?

Haven't flown the Vbar yet but my 600E and Logo5003D both flybar'd are very different animals.

And that might be the difference I will grant you that. I have the disadvantage of not being able to compare it to a flybarred logo. But I've always assumed the differences I've mentioned were due to vstabi. Obviously there are other big differences that can be attributed to the basic design differences e.g. agility and performance.
All I know is my thumbs have to fly each one differently. There is a learning curve whenever I fly one more than the other for too long. I went back to the 600 this weekend just to blow the dust off of it and the first few packs were definately an adjustment. I do love them both for different reasons. My 600e is totally blinged out so it's just fun to see it flying. But the stock vstabi 500 is just pure engineering magic.
