Guys I tried to search I can't find the answer.

It whines and winds up and down. It drives me nutz! What file can I copy in from another model to use that models sound with my Trex 500?

You have two options

1) Make your own recording and encode the sound to a 44100 hz 16bit mono WAV file (the file will be looped)

2) Take one of the other heli sounds make a copy and name it H_elec_3dsound_002.wave (find the right spot for it by searching for this file)

BTW you can click on the files in that directory and play them, the 500 has a pretty consistant sound, not sure what you are referring to.

I will try what you said thanks HFG. My sound isn't consistent even if I am just hovering but although my computer kicks butt I am using the built in sound card and the speakers from my monitor.

The 600n sounds great for me...

HeliSmith, just a thought but are you using the stock (unedited) TRex 500 model? Also are you using 1.05.j?

My system doesn't have that file. Weird, what version are you running? I'm running the latest version.

Haven't really had a chance to play with it since the information was given I think I can figure it out from here just gotta toy with it as I found the sound files as described just not that specific file. Thanks guys.

Do you have that directory ? There should be sound files somewhere, just find the one that sounds like the 500.

I think its more than just the sound samples its the way it whines up and down and the mixing from spool up it drives me round the bend:arggg: I suspect there is something in the models setup that has some influence on the sound as well it certainly does my head in. Perhaps playing a bit of Metal in the background is the answer :Bang

I love the sim dont get me wrong but compared with the sound in XTR there is no contest.
However having said this I do like the "blade farts"? no other sim has picked up on this.

I have replaced the T-Rex 600 sound with a more realistic wav file with a bit of blade noise added for good measure but its a bit to deep to use for the 500. The Nitro models don't sound right either its certainly no 50 Hyper. Just for kicks try the gas turbine sound Arggghhhhh.

If anybody has some good sounds by all means put us all out of our misery

Cheers
Glenn

Least I am not the only one who says it whines up and down. Haven't worked on this yet as I really don't like how the 500 flies in the sim anyway.
