Hi, I am in the process of getting a logo5003d, I have had enough of my nitro machines and need an 'e' fix that will be a bit bigger than the Trex500 I already have. I notice that a lot of people are using Hacker motors. I was wondering if anyone was using a Scorpion motor? I am looking at a lower cost motor choice. Hackers here are around $125 and the scorpions are $85. I was also going to add in a 120A scorpion ESC as one fella close by has one running with the gov and has great results but I heard the soft start didn't work, so until they release a new version in a few weeks that is off the list. The other options would be a Jive 80LV (big $$$) or a Jazz 80-6-18 (seems good value).
There were 2 options I was looking at and the KV's fit in nicely for pinions on the mod 0.7 gear train.
The motors are Scorpion SCHK3026-1400KV Motor http://www.arkinnovations.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=8&products_id=305
Scorpion SCHK3026-1210KV Motor. http://www.arkinnovations.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=8&products_id=304
Any info would be very well appreciated.

I think either one, the first one would have more power. The jazz 80 would be perfect, even i used the align 75/100A ESC and it works great, soft start is awsome as long as you don't use gov mode its a good ESC. Gov mode on the align is crap.
If you want to save some $$$ get something other than jazz.
I switched over the ACE (Thunder Tiger E-raptor ESC) and the gov mode is great. I use them on all my helis and the 75A is about $160AU or cheaper from the US (about $100US)

You could look at a Z30 motor $100, more power than that Scorpion, I have tried the Scorpion on my Hurricane 550 swinging 500mm blades and it got too hot that bearings went bad. That Scorpion is good on the Trex 500 though.

never having tried a scorpion on a logo 500 my first thought is the 3026 is too small.
As suggested above the Z-30 1100kv motor is a decent option at a bargin price

What about the HK-4035? Maybe not for the 500, but the 600.

I'm not sure but I think the kv's a tad low on that one, maybe for 12s.

No, the 560 with the right pinion seems to be what a 10S would need.

On 12s yes that would work. From the looks of it that motor is going to make ridiculous power and is better for a 700E heli.

Um, the Actro 32-3 - which is the most-recommended for the 600 10S - is 555Kv, so the Scorpian at 560Kv should also be fine. At 10S. Not 12S.

The website I went to showed it at 500kv..... http://www.innov8tivedesigns.com/product_info.php?products_id=354 I still wouldn't run it on 10s and would go 12s with that motor due to the extra copper.... it's honestly a 12s motor and would be much harder on 10s packs rather than 12s. Also your going to be limited on your pinion selection running 10s with that low of kv. It's honestly not a good idea.

They also have a motor which is 560 kV.
I have seen one in a Logo 600 Flybarless running on 10s 3700 Polyquest packs went great.
