Just installed a Spartan 760 in my Gaui 200. I really cant say enough about how pleased I am with this piece of equipment. As you all know weight is a major factor with the Gaui 200 so the 10g Spartan 760 is well above the curve in that respect. At 10g you'll be hard pressed to find a lighter gyro and certainly will not find one that comes close to the capability of this gyro at anything near this weight.
The decrease in weight was noticable immediately (I was previous using a GY401) and added that extra "pop" I've been missing. Now to get the Zpower motor Bert is using but that's another thread.

.....and exspensive. Anyone wanna buy a couple of 401s? :bad I've got three that aren't installed right now. Good thing I'm not working cause that would spell three new Helis.

What about the wolverine?

Uh.....you mean is it for sale or do you mean why the reference?
In either case, no it's not and the wolverine is the most fearless, nasty, mean and tough pound per pound animal on the planet. Thought it would be a good reference
As a matter of fact I think Gaui should adopt the name for the next 200 release. You know the one with the Zpower motor, TT, improved see-saw (mixer) arms, Batery/Gyro tray,CF LG standard, Aluminum tail case and slider, CF main blades and futuristic / sexy FG canopy. I'm sure there working on it right now.

Oh Man!!!
You are so right! I've been playing name games, since our logo exercise...
But the 200 = Wolverine!
No Brainer! I own a GUAI Wolverine 200.
As if I expected a plodding, decrepit <hurricane> to perform like this thing does.
Get with it GAUI, we're about six months ahead of you in engineering , parts, and naming conventions.

Buzz,
What did you so with all the wire on the Spartan? There must be enough wire to run it on a full size. I have a Spartan on a 450 and it really is sweet

I kind folded them onto themselves and zip-tied to frame support. I couldn't get myself to shorten the wires on this baby. Canopy covers them nicely. I even made up a little logo thingy for it
If you can find a meaner 200 we'll track it down and kill it.

Id love to get my hands on one of them spartans but just cant justify the cost yet as I dont think I can outperform a 401 or anything of the like. Maybe sometime later though. But in all seriousness Id like to inquire about a 401. I may just throw a 401 on my rex and use the rex's hitec in my gaui that im buying tomorow!

Buzz, it just occured to me, for anyone that has a sd and are considering the Zpower motor. The shaft on this motor is not long enough to slide the pinion all the way on to the shaft. Some consider that an issue. I knew this before I bought my Zpower and ordered anyway. I made a motor mount plate that raised the motor 1.5 mm just to get more shaft up into the pinion and the top of the shaft is now 2mm from the top of the pinion. Works great and I've tached 4520 with no problems. The double pinion is just taller than the belt pinion. Anyway I thought it was newsworthy.

Thanks for the tip. I've noticed that the stock SE motor has this problem as well. I don't think it'll be that big of an issue (I hope) I'll locktite that sucker. Any pics of the tray you made?

Have you adjusted any of the settings via the USB cable and software updater?
I had a problem with bounce and my 760, I think it is just a case of adjusting the deaceleration. I crashed the heli before I got round to adjusting the settings but it is in the process of a complete rebuild with a Z-Power 300 3300KV motor - i'm using 3S packs.

I did when I had this gyro on my Trex 500 but the gyro started having issues so I haven't reconnected the cable for fear it might again. I plan on wringing out the 200 Monday so if there's issues I'll have to connect the cable and adjust the settings. That seems to be the general settings adjustment for the 760.
What's your settings? Anything other than what you mentioned needed on your setup?

I don't think you'll have any problem. 1.6 mm FRP frame scrap 28 or 29mm square, fits between the frames, hole in the center for pinion 4 holes for motor mount screws, 4 more holes in corners to mount to 200 frame. cut a big hole in the middle frame and drop the motor in. Just got to measure carefully cause of the pinion/main gear/crown gear clearance.

No other settings used in my setup as of yet.
Am rebuilding my 200 now, having problems getting the bloody SD to line up and keep the gears level.
