Hello fellow freaks.
I'm about to receive my new KP Changer with the 2200 KP (Kong Power...) packs. Am I right in saying the steps to a long and happy relationship (As opposed to a few one nighters!) with my lovely new packs would be to charge them as normal.. then hover about for 4 minutes. Repeat maybe 5 times... and then allow myself to take them to 80%?

you could do it that way... or use your new charger to discharge the pack and then charge them again... it probably even has a cycle setting

Indeed it does... up to 5 cycles...
Maybe do that 3 times, then do two 4 minute flights, and then be a-for-away? Does the charger cycle do enough to the packs to break them in (Strain them a bit, temparature.. etc?)

Cralis,
That's what I do except after 5 flights at 4 minutes (or less) I gradually extend the time over the next 5 flights to about 6.5 to 7.5 minutes. I know that you are supposed to be able to abuse the hell out of these without problems, but I tend to treat mine like "normal" lipos and have 62 flights on one set and 45 on the other and they are still going very well. I also have 37 flights on one set of Aplus's and 12 on the other so that is 156 flights between my two 550s :fly :fly Oh I forgot another 12 flights on my latest Air Thunders so make that 168 flights. So at an average of 6 minute flights (usually longer) that's almost 17 hours of Hurri heaven :thumbup:
Cheers,
Mike.

Thanks guys. I'll go that route and include the gradual extention of flight times... Hard to hold back, but will keep the receipt for the packs in viewing distance, and that should help. :)
I *might* have some replacement packs from Flying-Hobby on their way - but I'll wait and see if they arrive before I rave about FH. So, might be in a scenario of having 4 new packs to break in at once!
How do you guys keep such an accurate log of your flights? knicks on the packs? Or pen and paper when you charge?

I have put a piece of masking tape on each battery and put on an extra mark on each time I charge them, every five I just create a "gate". I always fly the same pairs together so I have KP's number 1,2,3,4 + Air Thunder 1,2 + Aplus 1,2,3,4.
Cheers,
Mike.

I have read two short flights and recharges were enough....but more light flights couldn't hurt.....
