Wow congratulations on winning the Turbulence 90 D3. Talk about pure luck!!!! People like myself will have to tighten the belt and save money in order for me to get that heli too. I'm planning on getting one also. Once they go into full production, I'll definitely pre-order mine. Once again congrats and please do show us the kit once you get it into your hands. You'll probably lose alot of sleep just staring at it and pinching yourself as if it was all a dream. lol

I'm having trouble beleiving it now! I am doing to parts research now so I can start getting stuff bought. Problem is, how do you buy parts for something that isn't finished yet, lol. I promise to take pictures as soon as it comes in. The drawing just topped of what was already an awesome weekend.

So with all that said, what do you guess think would be the setup to have for the Turbulance D3. So Far I am thinking JR 8717's on cyclic, JR g770 3d w/ds8900g on tail control, OS91 w/mp5, Spektrum ar7100....not sure on battery or throttle servo yet. Thinking of throwing on V Blades. I have the Radix on my Evo 50 and love them, but always willing to try something new. With the heli being what it is, I want to have the best of the best in it as well. Any opinions would be appreciated!!

With me if I had a Turbulence 90 D3 I'd be the opposite of the trend when it comes to servos and other stuff. Everyone so far is going to the JR8717 set ups where as for me I'd go for the Futaba BLS351 for my cyclic and S9452 for the throttle. For my Gyro GY611. Engine will be a Tunder Tiger Redline 106 (which is still due to debut). AR7100 receiver with Rev limiter option. and CY MP5 90 muffler.

I wonder when is the exact release date of the Turbulence 90 D3?

Not sure on the release date as of yet. When Dan was going through the heli and it's features at the Hirobo Cup he said they didn't want to make any promises they couldn't keep, therefore no release date. The funny thing is that I didn't look at the Turbulance that close due to the fact that I am no where near capable of flying it to it's potential, nor could I afford such a machine. Now that I am waiting for it to show up on my doorstep, I have done nothing but drool over all the pics and info I can find.

The only reason I decided against the futaba stuff is because I have JR stuff now and it all works sooooo goooood. I'm sure I would be just as happy with the Futaba stuff, and I love the way the 611 looks if nothing else. As far as the Thunder Tiger, just haven't seen anything to pull me towards purchasing it.

Congrats on winning Nate!

I cannot wait to get one of these myself, should be very exciting when they are released. As for components that is always a tough choice, seems a lot of it comes down to loyalty or familiarity with JR or Futaba, then again some do like to mix and match, keep us posted on which way you are leaning for your components so we can help you double check your setup. Once again, congrats!

Geez thanks 2kwic2c, like I wasn't teasing myself enough! I had seen the first pick, but not the others. I really like the second one, nice shot.

I agree helimark, loyalty and familiarity can have a lot to do with choices. I think I am going to base most of my decisions on age of technology and reputation of such companies/technologies. Example being the gyro, I'm not going to go with a gy401 because I consider it outdated. Though it would probably work just fine, this is going to be a high class heli, it should have high class parts such as the gy611 or the g770 3d. At the same point I want parts with a reputation which is why I am leaning towards the OS motor. Of course there is always going to be debate as to which is better....but in reading all of the post and talking with other pilots, it seems the OS is the "one to have". Nothing against the other choices, just going with both technology and reputation vs loyalty and familiarity.

Thanks Jeffs450se

I love my EVO 50, and now I can't wait to get the D3. I'm sure your EVO will treat you well!! A gut feeling tells me I won't have to wait much longer!! :)
