I took a stab at the chinese weight mod for the 200 and I have to say what a pleasant surprise. My logictech servo doesn't even get warm now. I have lowered my gain to 40%. There is no wonder that servos get hot and burn out. I used microheli tail grips and hub, linkage balls, two of the swash to elevator servo linkage screws. If you want to give your tail servo a break give it a try. I'm glad I did.

I noticed a difference when I did the weight mod on my trex... I think I might just have to get around to trying this for the gaui :) Thanks for posting the pics!

Is there any way to easily mod the stock tail grips? I think I read that the tail grip bolts were 1.6 mm so I looked around the web and finally found a longer 1.6 mm bolt (to add the balls to) but I could never find any place that carried the 1.6 mm nuts for the bolts.

I've thought of drilling out or tapping the hole to 2 mm, think that would work ? I too liked what the mod did to my 450 and my tail servo on the 200 is always warm after a flight, I'm sure it would help.

I haven't posted in here before but I've read a ton and finally had to go get a 200. So far I'm loving it. I've probably racked up 30 or so flights and she's still going strong. So thanks guys !

Lakespinner I'm sure you can use the stock grips, that was my original intent. But the 1.6mm fasteners are difficult to find, especially the nuts. The microheli tail grips come with the nuts so problem solved. As far as drilling to 2mm? You would just have to try, I don't see why it would not work. So you have been lurking for awhile? That's cool. Lots of good info and people here. Don't be a stranger. You are just over the hill from me I'm in Concord. Ain't it a small world? I agree the 200 is a fun heli, Iiked it so much I bought another one.

Hi Jetleaf, I went thru concord recently going to visit a field that's in mt. pleasant; and I went to the field at the track a few weeks ago during their funfly, I guess that might be considered concord. Seems like there's lots of nice places where a gaui would feel at home. One of the fellows at mt. pleasant had a gaui 200 when I was there.

I was desperately trying to resist getting yet another heli and I had been able to resist the urge, barely. then Bobby Watts came down and flew his 200 in the rain at Joe Nall a few weeks ago, it was getting dark but he was flying backward inverted tight laps around the flight station. You could hear the rain drops hitting the blades. I think if any of the vendors would have had the gaui 200 in stock right then they would have flown off the shelves. :P Bert's videos also made any resistance futile.

Anyway, I'll grab a spare set of tail grips and see if I can come up with something workable until some more elegant solutions are offered for sale.

Where is the field at the track? I've heard mention of it but I go by the track all the time and have never seen any rc activity.

JetLeaf, I think it's a second field used by the Huntersville RC club and I believe it was accessed by turning into parking lot 'P.'

It's in the original post. Or do you mean from which retailer?

The microheli grips and hub from Helidirect http://www.helidirect.com/product_info.php?cPath=30_321_397&products_id=7201 and for the screws I had to order 2 of Gaui part # 203571 (Balls - Extension for CNC Swashplate) from Flying Hobby http://flying-hobby.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=3_5_8&products_id=2472. Have to order 2 because you only get 1 screw with each pack. Ready Heli nor Heli Direct carry that pn for some reason. You'll have to trim a couple of mm off the screws or they will hit the control arm bracket.

I stand corrected Ready Heli does carry the #203571 Balls - (Extension for CNC Swashplate) I could have sworn I couldn't find them there. My bad.
