How does G2 licensing work? I'm considering purchasing a used setup cheap but the guy says it won't run cause the fellow that installed it isn't around?
Do they have to unregister it? Is there a workaround?

I purchased a copy of G2 from an estate sale and it also would not work.
I had to call realflight and explaine the situation and give them the name of the original owner and they then released the serial no for me to register it.
Its a bit of a PITA but can be done.

If it comes with a controller or the adapter and has a serial number you should be able to use it. You would have to call Great Planes Software Support (http://www.gpsoftware.com/contacts.htm) and have them delete the old registration information for you.
