Is this idea too far fetched? I have an ATI video card that has given up the ghost. I removed the fan from the card and it is feather light! Because of its small size, it could easily mount on the side of the canopy. And it takes 5v. I could run a line off the receiver BEC to the fan. It might work in a hover, but I think at speed the wind might just burn it out.

Others have used fans, but they usually mount them inside and suck air in.....as long as it's not IN the airstream i don't see why it wouldn't work....
Search the threads one of the guys uses a vacum cleaner fan and it coold perfectly.
The fun about this hobby is you get to try it...and see if it works....then report to us...
So go ahead and try it.....we'll wait to hear your results.
and pay no attention to xomby....with big enough fan blades...ANYTHING can get off the ground, he's just jealous he didn't think of it first......in fact he's becoming a lot like a certain Bloke from and unamed island...with long hair....that we think is in love with one of his employees !! :lol:

Two fans, thats a scale Chinook thing happenin' right there! Would you have to reverse the fans to land? Good question by me there I think! Or....hang on...I got it! Go inverted to land!!!
