Not sure if anybody saw the post about software updates for the Jive in the main forum. Its the first time I've seen anybody from Kontronik respond on the boards to make a statement about their ESCs so its worth a read if you have or are planning on getting the Jive.

Not sure when the new ESCs will be available with V3 software but it seems like you'll need to send them back for reprogramming if you have V1 or V2. Wonder if they label the version on the case or if there is some other way of knowing what you have.

Also, I haven't seen the new ProgCARD II card out yet which allows you to adjust the BEC to between 5 and 6V.

Interesting stuff, shows there on the ball and pro-active. I'm sure they label their firmware just like the jazz's so there would be a way of determining what version your running.

Mike from Kontronic (motormike) is on RCG on occasion and has been for years. It is the only semi reliable way to get in touch with him.

The Jive does have the same 3 digit code like all K product to tell the firmware version.

The prog card 2 has been around for a while now. It allows finetuning of the govenor and bec voltages. It is not a replacment for the prog card 1, it is an addition. The card 1 is the main gadget and does the real setup stuff, mode selection, stick range calibration etc.

Interesting. I ain't buying Jive until it's 100% or when one of my Jazz 55's dies!

I'm tempted to sell my Jazz 80 (with heat sink mod) and get a Jive 80+LV so I can get rid of my external BEC. Also thinking about switching to a Z-power motor but I'll wait to read reports on how well that works with the new firmware updates.

I just wish Kontronik would either release a flash update kit or have someone in the US who can do it.

My Jive has been gone for over a month now waiting for it to be fixed. (they say 'updated')
This is VERY POOR service from the big K.
The controller didn't work! They should admit that rather than hiding behind the 'feature' story.
It's like windows. Full of bugs that they call features.

Too bad they work so well :-) else I would never buy another K product!

What is the difference with the new Jive over the Jazz?

Is there any kind of major improvements with these over the Jazz? I know f.ex. that the new internal BEC is capable of handling 15A peaks, but what about, lets say the governor?

Thanks,

Sounds like just a adjustable voltage and higher current BEC, better high current detection/protection features, and maybe a little higher top end on current.

Sent my Jive80+ LV away more than 3 weeks ago and haven't heard anything yet!
