Hello guys-

I have been flying helis off and on for about 12 years now. I started with a GMP cricket. I now have a couple of nexus's, MA x-cell 60's, T-Rex's, a Kalt Baron 30, and now my Bergen Intrepid EB. I used to have a Kalt Baron Alpha but got rid of it. This year I go the itch for another gasser because thats the direction I went with all my other RC's (boats and cars) I love the scale of a gas vehicle!

My bergen is used but was meticulously cared for. It has a Hansen engine and the charging system as well as the the extended boom. I have just unpacked it but haven't had a chance to go through it with a fine tooth comb.

I am looking for suggestions on this heli as I go through the setup on my radio. Is it similar to the smaller helis? Specifically I am looking for pitch/throttle curve suggestions and main blade pitch ranges, maybe even gyro rates. I know most of this gets refined as you fly but I am looking for some good starting points.

Here is what I plan on running as far as electronics. If you have suggestions, I am open to them. I already own everything that I am listing.

TX: Futaba 14 MZH (I use this for all my aircraft)
RX: Futaba PCM G3 ( I am debating about picking up a Futaba R168DP as the G3 seems like overkill)
Gyro: JR G500T
Rudder: JR NES-8700G
Ail: Fut S9252
Elv: Fut S9252
Pitch: Fut S9252
Throttle: JR NES-537

Another question: I have never flown with a governor. I have a Fut GV-1 for this heli. Would you recommend using it?

Here are some photos. I am not sure how old the heli is. If there have been any critical updates since this version maybe you can let me know. I know that the previous owner upgraded the tailboom to the EB kit.

Looks good, very well kept.

The only thing that REALLY pops out at me is the need for the "new" tail pitch bellcrank. We upgraded that part free of charge a couple years ago, but every once in awhile, an old one pops up....

Contact us at 269-445-2060 for a free replacement.

If you want to use the GV-1, then you may also want to use the Stator Gator sensor instead of the hall effect sensor. We do try to keep the SG's in stock. Now having said that I believe that Raja has picks of the Stock sensor aimed at the crankcase and the flywheel magnet inside.

Spend some time going over the heli, read through the manual available for download here, http://bergenrc.com/Manuals.php , and consider doing a complete teardown and rebuild to verify that all is put together properly.

Of course, give us a holler with any questions or thoughts. here on HF, via email at bergenrc@verizon dot net, or on our bergen forum at http://bergenrc.com/phpBB2/index.php . Go ahead and register, then send me your user name via e-mail for activation.

Oh, and Welcome!!:)
