So I just received my pair of 6S1P batteries for my 600 build and took a look at them and noticed they come with two balance connectors: one 6 lead and one 4 lead connector. Shouldn't there just be one 7 lead connector? That way it would plug into one of the many balance adaptors I have to cover all the battery suppliers random connector choices (each one that I have has a '6S' connector - 7 pins...). Or do all 10 wires actually connect to something in the battery?

Do I need yet another adaptor or do I have to buy connectors and do some cutting and re-connecting? Or am I just missing something obvious? (Wouldn't be too much of a surprise).

Thanks.

TP and FP use multiple connectors for 6s and above configurations. For a 6s, some of the wires are connected to nothing. What charger are you using? Most manufacturers offer a TP/FP adapter.

Otherwise, you could install a JST-XH 6s plug (Align / E-Flite, ZIppy, etc...) ... note that the solder joint will cause a weak point in the wire and could be subject to damage if bent repeatedly.

Otherwise, you could one of these:

Ahhhh - now I see it, thank you.
I have a Hyperion charger and all the balance connectors including the TP version - and when I looked closely it does have the 4-pin and 6-pin connectors right beside each other with a 6S label under them.

I was, as I guessed, missing something obvious.
Thanks again. I just started this hobby a few months ago (T-Rex 450V2) and still have a lot to learn.
