View Full Version : Motor for L600 3D - 6s?
Hi!
I have converted my L500 3D to 600 3D and I am wondering what motor to get.
I have used a Z-Power 30a (1100kv) in my L500 (550mm blades) but now I want a bit more power with out the moto getting to warm...
The battery will be a FP 6s5000 25C and I am planning on using 600mm blades at +\- 2100prm.
Esc: Jeti 77 SPIN. It can handle peaks of +100amp with out it getting to warm.
Please help :)

Running a 6s pack on a 600 heli is really going to be weak, ask me how I know this. You need a minimum of 8s to 3D a 600 good.
With that being said if your running a mod .7 main gear with 153 teeth then a 15 or 16 pinion using your current Z motor. I'd run a NEU 1907H/1.5Y with a 18 or 19 pinion mod .7 if I was forced to use 6s on a 600 bird.

A friend of mine is running his 600 with z30a-1100, using his pack from the trex 600. It works fine getting HS at 2250 rpm. We did not temp the motor but you can put your finger on the motor on it did not get that too hot but of course cooler is better.
I have also decided to run 6s myself but with dual 6s packs in parallel, It seems that 1 pack can take a beating from the amp draw and it really takes its toll on the lipos after awhile but with two 3000mah will be less then 900g, sharing the amp load, the batteries will feel nothing. Havent decided on a motor but thanks for the info on the Neu 1907.
So if I go with FP 25C 8s2p 4350 it would be a better choice... What motor for 8s?
I do have to get a new batterypack so perhaps I should just go for 8s then... or sell the L600 tail and get a new 500 tail and 6s5000 packs...

On 8s a NEU 1910H/1Y is great from what I've been told
On 10s 3700 packs you can run many different motors.... 1912H/1Y, Tango 45-07, Tango 45-06, Actro 24-4, Actro 32-3, etc etc etc.... I run the Tango 45-07 and like it do to the longer flight times it gives. Makes good power but not an all out 3D monster motor. I would go 10s if you haven't bought packs yet.
