View Full Version : You can go all CNC on your blade...or get a copterX 450se v2 kit...same price.

What would you do, swap all your electronics to a copterx? Or go aluminum on the blade? Both well supported helis, since the 450 can use align parts, and eflite is everywhere.

Lol sorry,

Here are the CNC from microheli (same sold at horizon)

http://www.microheli.com/index.php?cPath=230

Everything + the gear is $180 + shipping.

Now here is the 450, CF frame, all aluminum...basically a mirror of a rex 450se v2.

http://www.ehirobo.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=173_174&products_id=5579

I would probably swap out all the phillips bolts with the align hex bolts.

You can see a few build threads of the copterx around here I think.

when i get into metal parts it will be trex or copterx or something like that. i am going to keep the b400 pretty much stock mechanics. i didn't mind upgrading the servos, and plan on upgrading the gyro one day as well, but if i am going to dump a bunch of money into a heli, it's going to be a larger one!

btw thanks for the links.. that copterx looks pretty freaking awesome for 200bux!

I was thinking the same, cant justify dropping $180 for CNC on the blade when you can get a full cnc/carbon heli for that price.

neither :D

I would buy this one: http://www.xheli.com/mb-450-helicopter-arf.html

or spend a little extra and get this one: http://www.xheli.com/tg-450-special-edition-helicopter-arf.html

But can those use all of the align parts flawlessly?

Why do you guys feel that the Blade 400 does not deserve a CNC Alum Head and Tail? I have owned or flown every flavor of Trex. I have owned CopterX. I tell you this, if I want another heli that is all CNC ALum, it will be a Blade 400.

I personally like the plastic frame. It is a very well thought out design. It is compact. It is light. It is very rigid. Componants are easy to install and replace.

All price, copterx can use align parts. My point was, it cost the same amount to get a cnc head and tail on the blade as it does to get an entire heli made from aluminum and fiber...

I put a copter x head and tail on my b400, got it from e-hirobo, It flys very well on the B400 and comes in quite a bit lighter than my friends t-rex.

Just be careful with what you order from them. I have bought a heap of stuff from them until recently when I bought one of their copterx lipo charger (rebranded lipro charger), has an inaccurate balancer. The thing decided it was going to blow up one of the components whilst charging a battery within the guidelines for charging.
Contacted them and they said "Sorry we can not offer a warranty on any hobby product"
So I think to myself wtf....

This is the way i see it, if you buy a cheap heli that's what you get. You only ever get what you paid for.

tell that to everyone flying the copterx with no problems ;)

Just my 2 cents. You can also go the 600 route E-smart for about $199 with motor.

What dose that have to do w/ the 400 and getting a metal head? I'm pretty sure these guys are looking for durability on a budgett!

Oh sorry I just read the whole thread right now. Goin cnc is very nice it doesn't matter which way you go. But for 180 bucks is too steep on me. Does this price include the tail set-up? I read from previous threads that Sokal is wearing out those composite linkages in his 400.

Like Sparx, I've flown the Trex, CopterX, Blade 400, and Dragonus. They are all birds of a feather, just slight differences in personality. Of the whole fleet, the B400 and Dragonus are the better flying ones, IMO.

The dradonus looks VERY nice for the price. How do you like it? All aluminum? I see a lot of CF upgrades too.

The dradonus looks VERY nice for the price. How do you like it? All aluminum? I see a lot of CF upgrades too.My Dragonus is a mix-n-match. It's got the aluminum frame and plastic tail of the stock one that Hobby-Lobby sells, but a full CNC head. It is a fantastic flying bird!

Let me just say for the record that the full CNC head doesn't fly one bit better than it did with nothing more than the $30 CNC center hub. IMO, that center hub and the tail hub (more on that in a sec) are the only "must do" upgrades. The stock plastic center hubs tend to be wobbly.

The tail hub on the Dragonus is aluminum, and I lost my tail blade grips after a very minor tail strike. While I admit it was my fault, I've had similar strikes on Align steel hubs without failure. I'm now flying the Dragonus with an Align hub/grips (direct bolt-on).

I'd have to say it's probably my favorite of the fleet. :) This is one of the only videos I have of it with the CNC head, and it's not very good (poorly aimed hatcam), but you'll get the idea especially how quiet it is:
