A good idea for us pilots? Sure! However I suspect the niche market that is RC Heli’s will prevent any developer from creating for such a platform. The console makers are thinking in terms of millions of sales not tens of thousands. ;)

That would be GREAT! That was my first thoughts, wishing that I could load it in my PS3!

I don't think that I agree with atomic 100%. Microsofts Flight Simulator sold many many copies, and not just to people who really were getting a pilots lisence. Same thing with rock star, not only for people who want to play in a band. I think that if they had a commercial for it, they wouldn't have a problem selling! JMO though..

Heli's are so "IN" right now I think they'd sell at least a million copies. If you take into account the overseas sales. I wouldn't even care if you just flew it on the standard PS3 controller.

Smokin, Atomic is actually correct. You can't compare Flight Sim with RealFlight or other RC sims just because they are both "sims". They have completely different audiences, and the flight sim audience is much larger than the rc sim market.

Besides, I've been in the game industry for years and the unfortunate truth of the matter is that now-a-days, consoles are only for big players that are looking for good returns on their investments. You will NEVER see a small app like an RC sim on a console because the cost of the licensing, and production to do such a thing would almost guarantee that you would never make enough sales to justify it. Game consoles are strictly business and you will never see another title on a console that is "just for fun" anymore because it's too expensive, and there's no money in it for such a niche market.

PC's on the other hand are relatively open source and anyone can develop and release whatever they want without the fear of big brother controlling the show. There's less restrictions and rules that govern how an app or game must be made so it's just so much easier to develop for PC's.

Personally I have a 52" LCD Sony Bravia anyways so I just plug my laptop right to the TV and enjoy crystal clear flying on my tv anyways :) Which btw I highly recommend hehe.

Sorry that's not true. Yes Heli's are "in", but you have to keep in mind that to sell any copies of a PS3 sim title people would have to:

a) be into helis enough to want a sim. (a pretty low % if you really think about it)
b) own a PS3
c) not already have a sim or be willing to pay the $150+ pricetag for another sim just because it's on the ps3.

The combination of those facts would nearly guarantee incredibly bad sales. The cost in marketing alone just to get the word out would probably bankrupt you heh. Games on consoles are are just too expensive.
