Cranked my OS 50 hype for the first time yesterday. Needle was set to factory recommended 1.5 turns, and I am using cp 15%. Even at half throttle i am getting almost no smoke at all, and I'm afraid I'm gonna ruin my engine. First nitro for me as well. Is this usual?

That doesn't sound good. Check the pressure line to make sure the tubing and the tank's inlet are clear of obstructions.

What pipe are you using and are you using a header tank?

Try feeding directly out of the main tank. If you still don't get smoke, that would reduce the likelihood that the header tank is the culprit.

If you are comparing the smoke from CP 15% to the smoke you see from engines using 30% nitro fuel. You will never get the CP 15% to smoke even close to what the smoke will be from some of the 30% nitro fuel.
CP15% fuel uses 18% Heavy Viscosity oil, that oil does not smoke much even when the mixture is very rich. If the engine is running fine and not getting hot and bogging or quitting. Then I would think you have the mixture set right. 1.5 to 1 3/4 turns open from fully closed is what I have found that most of the Hyper 50's I have helped with seem to run the best.
