I've been trying to get the JMD models H300 skids kit to no avail. Helihobby tells me it's on back order as are many of their scale kits and have no ETA. Anybody know where to get one or just the drawings to make one? I believe its just two skid tubes and the frame is made of aircraft plywood epoxied together and painted. Looks like this:

I can't believe nobody out there has this. Don't you guys think this is a pretty cool and classic heli? It's also a simple way to make a nice scale bird.

How about a Bell 47? You know, the M*A*S*H helicopter. Has anyone seen a kit for the TRex?

I have seen the M*A*S*H heli somewhere too, but can't remember where at the moment.

Yeah, I've been after HeliHobby for a couple of months. They have the canopy, but not the skids kit. I don't want that canopy though, I'm getting the nice yellow FG one ($70 bucks ouch!) on that same web page. I think it's under canopies, this red one is under fuselages.
They tell me they're having problems with JMD models supplying stuff, they're way backed up or something. I sent JMD another e-mail today and no reply. Not a nice way to treat the people that keep you in business, huh?

So, how are your soldering skills ? Looks simple enough.

I'm an electronics tech. I'm highly skilled in Mil-Spec and J-STD soldering down to 0201 size SMD component level. You read my mind, earlier today I was thinking of where to get some tubing, although solder would probably crack under the stress, I would rather go with something like brass and braze it or make it the same way they do, with aircraft ply. I have a scroll saw and sanders, I was a plank guy! Sure would be easier to buy it though. Weight is no problem, I have a second Scorpion motor on the way as I type!!!! Hey thanks for your input Chas! See if you can remember where you saw the Bell 47 kit. Check out this monster...

My LHS carries a whole rack of brass/aluminum tubing, angle, and square tubing. I think it comes in 3 ft sections maybe 1 ft., but I haven't looked at it closely. I think it's just what you need. If you can't find it locally, I will check it out next time I am up there, maybe I could ship it to you.

Thanks Chas, that's really nice of you, but I have a LHS that carries it too. I just need to figure out how to weld it. I guess for brass oxyacetylene braze, or aluminum has to be MIG or TIG? not sure, right now I'm concentrating on rebuilding the heli since it did the chicken dance yesterday. I'll let you know how it's going. Thanks again!

Does anyone know JCopter? It's been several days I can't contact him after he replied to my post. Is he connected with JMD since they don't reply either? Anyone know what's going on?
