SD Gear meshing ?

Anyone give a guide to how much 'give' there should be in the gear mesh of the bevel gear and pinion gear?

I touched a leaf and stripped all three SD gears hah!

The manual spells it out for us. "Adjust the gear mesh properly" what more do you need?
Abiguous at best but basically useless.:roll: I just make sure that I can move one gear back and forth and feel a gap between it and the gear that it mates with. I'm talking less than 1 mm that's why it's by feel and not really something you can measure. I suppose if you have a dial indicator or runout gauge it could be measured but it's never going to be the same from one heli to the next due to wear. You don't want the gears to be jammed together. I hope that helps.

I'll put the new gears on tomorrow and make sure there is little but still some play in the mesh.
