Watch the CCPM videos here:

They'll walk you through setup of the head and show you how to use the pitch guage.

No, you don't.

First, there is no throttle. There is no pitch. There is only collective.

Collective is a mix between throttle and pitch.

In NORM mode, you want 0 throttle and -4 degrees pitch at low collective. Mid collective will be 0 pitch and about 80% throttle. Full collective will be 80% throttle and +12 pitch.

In ST1 (stunt flight mode) mode, you want 90% throttle and -6 degrees pitch at low collective. Mid collective will be 0 pitch and about 90% throttle. Full collective will be 90% throttle and +12 pitch.

In ST2 (3D flight mode) mode, you want 100% throttle and -12 degrees pitch at low collective. Mid collective will be 0 pitch and about 100% throttle. Full collective will be 100% throttle and +12 pitch.

Good luck.

Um, actually, the collective is a separate control from the throttle in a full scale. It's still separate with our models, but we mix the two controls either in the radio or by mechanical means.

Sorry. I forgot to say "stick". There is no throttle stick. My bad.

In full scale, isn't there a twisty grip for throttle on the pitch stick? My understanding is that 99% of the time, the governor manages the throttle and you only manipulate the pitch.

lol. Just bustin' yer chops a bit :)

As for governors on full scale, depends on the aircraft. I fly the Schweizer 300 a lot and there is no governor on any of the 3 I fly. There IS a mechanical correlator that tweaks the throttle as you mess with the collective, but it's not 100% accurate. It does a pretty good job, but you still need to tweak the throttle a bit from time to time. Governed helis also have a correlator and part of your training will involve flying "ungoverned".
