Finally got the vbar into the computer (bad usb cable)

Put the live menu up to see the transmitter movements. I noticed the center point on the screen wasn't right at center to the tranmitter.

I;ve read that no tx trim should be used , should i subtrim in v-bar to correct ? or use the tx to trim it to center (maby pulse not reading 100% at 150ms ? )

I could verify the pulse with xtr screen software.

rcmarty,

Do not use any trim or subtrim. All you need to do in the live menu is check direction of AIL, ELEV, and Collective.

For example, I'm using DX7, so all I had to do is reverse AIL channel as ELEV and Collective were correct.

Thanks.

Never ever ever use trims or subtrims on your radio again.....this will all be done in the v-bar software from now on. Make sure that all your servo endpoints are set to 100% (except for your throttle that is independant of the v-bar....do what you want with it), and that you have no trim or subtrim in the radio.

Make sure your live menu directions are working as expected now and reverse channels as required.
(You can tell your v-bar to re-initialize if you bump or move your heli with the coldstart button on the overview menu)

Then your going to level your swash using the v-bar software subtrims (obviously you still want this to be as close mechanically as you can get the smallest ammount of subtrim you can). You may need to adjust your links to get your swash in the middle of the collective at 0 pitch, but as the bird was previsouly configured it should be fine. After your swash is level you will adjust the length of your swash to bladegrip links so that they are both at 0 degrees when at 0 degrees pitch.

Finally you limit the amount of pitch and cyclic you want. I recommend 12 to 14 degrees pitch with 8 to 10 degrees cyclic.

To measure cyclic pitch you get to 0 degrees pitch with your blades in line with your tail boom, give full aileron and measure the deflection. (or have your blades sideways and use full elevator).

Tail setup is pretty self explanitory as we've all setup tail gyro's before ( I recommend a tail symmetry setting of 7).

Now your ready to test hover...just verfify your gyros are going the right way first....all of them :)

Where can i limit the cyclic ranges ?
i'm measuring 15 degrees of cyclic , would like to go with 8 or 9

what does the tail symentry do ? Mine is at 15 right now.

I think i've used most of the plug in 600n setting and have tweaked the heli to match

15 will be a VERY twitch bird. I would say to start you want between 8 and 10.

On the 600e plugin there is a slider to limit cyclic. Is this not on the 600n plugin? Conversly you could extend the ball distance from ball to head button, or shorten the length of your servo shaft to servo ball.

Tail symetry eliminates bounce back by giving the gyro the correct amount of torque correction set this to 7 for the 600e
