Okay, from the look of the post stats, we are really moving!

Now we need someone to put the GAUI 200 <Wolverine> into the spotlight.

Who's up 'fer it?

I'm old and beat up, but I promise 30min of sim and average a pack a day (that's in Lipo's not Camels...)

If I can go up against one 'o them Swabo, Maxhell or Blueblood boys, I've got bragging rights forever, okay? And you clowns will <NEVER> hear the end of it...

Try and beat me.
First flight in regular competition (or official, sanctioned, demonstration, regardless of outcome in either case) wins the challenge. To the winner, I will provide a simulated pirate eyepatch, as well as a real pirate pegleg ;-) If I lose, I will promise to shut up for two weeks....

give me 1 year give or take 10 yrs and ill be your man. i cant imagine what kind of skills you would need to knock out all the tricks in the book with this little guy. ive been attempting my first piroflips with the gaui and its ridicules. the tail isnt very consistent and extremely difficult to fallow.

ive been wondering lately, if one of the pro nitro pilots picked up one of these what would happen. i wonder if they would have a hard time with it or if there just such FREAKS that they could start knocking out the crazyst s**t in the book. i guess (hopefully) time will tell

Sir Wallis,

Your wisdom far exceeds your claims to accomplishment, yet I require much more....

Find and train me two-score of valiant Helista!

Now!! We march!!

Kyle Stacy is the Gaui 200 champion as it stands right now in my book. Haven't seen Ray Stacy around for quite a spell but Ray was posting about the Gaui 200 way back when it wasn't availible to the public yet if memory serves me right. Kyle's been in mag's and so forth for quite some time (way before the Gaui 200) flying the 200. I believe Kyle is sponsered by Gaui.

If were looking for someone that frequents the Freak them maybe we should ask Bert?

Let's ask, I'm nothing but trouble where this is concerned ;-)

Maybe we should get RotorHead to ,err... modify, some upcoming articles in the trades, do ya think?

We really have'nt thrown him a decent black op in a long time....

That's awesome Little Man. I loved the commentary from the other guys they're like "You got to be kidding me" and "what is that"

Great flying!

I also enjoy how they had to work out the spelling of GAUI in the background! ;-)

You definately know your stuff dude, (but what's with that smoke trail ???)

LittleMan,

I sure hope you stay interested in the 200...

I think we would all be interested in hearing any thoughts you have on how to get toward this level of flying, not to beat you up for anything, but if you ever want to give advice, I'm listening.

Gr4yb3ard
Pete, you got it. JetLeaf, thanks again.

Hokay!

I've been inverted before, in a plastic ship.
Still working out (smooth) hovers in all normal orientations, just starting out hovering inverted.

That was, until I got the 200, and got scared...

What's a good practice drill on sim and real to get past this?

What I have learned is that orientation is crucial to advancing to 3D.
starting on the sim i recomend trying to do slow piro's starting right side up and working really hard on keeping the machine in the same spot. once you are capable with that not only have you learned your orientations, you are also well on your way to piro maneuvers. Dont forget to learn them both right piros and left, try to learn to FLY the heli still not just get into a rythm as far as the stir. After you are confident right side up try it inverted. Way to many potential 3d guys forget about oreintations and it will come back and bite you/them if you dont.
In essence 3D is really only a combination of 3 basic maneuvers, rolls, flips, and piro's, so try to concentrate on these. Instead of just trying to hover inverted, go into ff and do a roll pausing at the inverted part just to get used to seeing the machine inverted and getting a feel for the proper amount of negative pitch as well as what "changes" direction. I recomend being able to do traveling rolls in both directions and from both directions before starting on the inverted hovering stuff. Being able to do rolls in both directions directly leads to aileron tic-tocs (half roll one way then the other) Once you do them traveling try to do them staionary. Also try flips staitionary (I find forward flips easier personally) When you are doing these maneuvers once again pause at the invert to get used to it.
As far as being scared with the 200, I am quite the opposite, its small and not as unnerving as the bigger stuff and parts are cheap! If you have G3.5 and you want to set up a multiplayer thing I will be happy to work with you and show you better what I am talking about.
Sorry for the novel but I hope this helps some people. Anything that needs to be clarified let me know.
