Trex700 or Vibe90?

Hi all:

Just wondering if all the previous problem with tail box for the Vibe90 had been resolved? I am looking at trex700 and vibe 90 for a while and I cannot decide yet.

Trex700 is supported by a local hobby shop but not the vibe90. But i like the vibe canopy so much than the trex700..In a midst of decision now.

I am trex700 is going to glitches of issues here and there when it first come out. Finger crossed.

How? any inputs?

I have 3 Align helis and I just got my first JR heli a Vibe 50. I'm so impressed with the quality of the Vibe 50 I have been thinking about the Vibe 90. For me the decision would be easy, the Vibe 90.

I am liking my Vibe 50 so much, I wouldn't mine owning a Vibe 90 as well..It would be nice if JR releases a new Vibe 90 with parts cost a little lower and the same tail unit as the Vibe 50 installed on the 90...They should just make the Vibe 50 a little bigger and call it the new Vibe 90...

Nope, but I hear some people are putting the 50 tail on the 90 with some mods..

Iread somewhere that the tail cases have the same part number. :dontknow

But checking the manuals, I see that isn't so.

What makes the Vibe 50 tail so much better?

Or, I see what I misunderstood, the 50 and 90 use the same tail hubs and bearing sets.

What I can see that makes it better is it is aluminum rather than plastic and is better secured onto the boom than the 90 tail case..

There is a note on the JR page about making SURE the tail case is tight on the boom, so the tail case doesn't rotate and the tail blades hit the tail fin.

So I guess yes, there is some issue.

I watch videos of Vibe 90's in hard 3d and it seems to be an awesome heli that holds up just fine..I guess if you dont build the tail case correctly you can have problems...

the vibe 90 is a awesome heli but the tail box is a weakness,the plastic housing breaks off,its happened to me and heaps of other vibe owners around the world,ive ended up converting a stratus tail box assembly to my vibes,its fixed the problem although it cost 300 per heli.
the vibe quality is way better than align ,although if you crash a lot you wont wear your parts out before you replace them.:arggg:

I love my Vibe! It tracks really well,
and the parts quality is high to!

I like the fact that you can adjust the
endplay between the gears. The 700 cannot
do this, so if one of the frame holes is a little
bit off you could end up stripping gears a lot... :(

I guess i did +- 100 flights on mine
and still no slop or anything.:thumbup:

As far as the tail box, every heli has
his weaknesses. I just check the screws
that hold the box in place after every flying
day.

Didnt someone discover that a Vibe50 tailbox will work on a Vibe90? And supposedly the Vbe50s tailbox is much stronger. I could be wrong, I thought I read that somewhere.

The problem is the end of the torque tube is different from the 50 to the 90, and there is a length difference, and diameter differnce, making it a bit more complicated to do. But it can be done, at it has been reported so, as I haven't personally tried it. :)

any tail box is do able,scott grey is apparantly running the 50 tail box on his 90,he is sponsored by jr so he has to stick with the brand.the ma closed tail box is indestructiable,titanium housing etc ,as well as the clamp ive put 2 3mm hex bolts through the boom and into the tail box,she aint going anywhere

The new Vibe 90 will have the same tail box as the current Vibe 50.

Tell us more about this "New" Vibe 90. I haven't been able to find any info on JR producing a new 90. Is this really more than just rumor? Is there a projected date? Is it more than just a version 10?

As far as I'm concerned its just a rumor that probably started because now that the 50 is out, and has proven itself, it only makes sense to upgrade the Vibe 90 to something similar to the 50 but bigger.
