Arggh! Just a word of warning... if you spray yourself with bug spray at the field, be sure it does not get onto your TX! The bug spray I used (OFF! Active) apparently eats into the plastic face over the DX7 display.

So now I have permanent spotty haze on my display, which catches light and makes it rather difficult to read.

I'd love some ideas on how to remedy the problem.

Destin, I haven't tried this myself, but I believe that red rouge, or jewelers rouge, might work. Jewelers rouge is used to get a mirror finish on many metal and plastic surfaces. It just might be able to polish out the defects on your display face. Do a google search for more information and where you can get some.

Good luck,
Wayne

There is also a polish designed for Plexiglas that will remove minor scratches and scuffs, and it may do the trick without further damage to the screen's plastic.

Oh, and if you get the spots off, go buy some screen protectors to cover that display and prevent anything from happening like that in the future! I just bought some for my X9303 and they're totally awesome! The thread on these is: http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=68895

This stuff is great for polishing plastics:

We Jeep guys use this stuff on our plastic windows and it buffs out the haze and scratches and makes them crystal clear again.

I also had a neoprene case for my iPod and it actually scuffed a haze onto the screen. I polished it out with Novus before putting a screen protector on it. The Novus made it look like new again.

I'd bet money that it would work for you. Just follow the directions.

I would just email Spektrum and see how much they want to replace the screen. After you get a new screen make sure you get a nice screen protector for it and you should be good after that.
