Hi,
I'm thinking about getting one of those motors for my Gaui 200. So I have some questions.
Does the Z-Power 5150 come with the same connectors as the stock ESC comes with?
What pinion are you using with this motor (BTW I have the belt version)?
What flight times can you reach if you want to fly hard 3D?
What throttle curves are you guys running (100% flat curve?)?
Thanks in advance,
Michael

I just installed one of the 5150 zpower motors yesterday and based on the one I have and just a few flights:
the connector pins on the 5150 motor are not installed but are in the box with the motor, they are larger than the stock motor pins. I just soldered the motor directly to the ESC wires. I'm never far from a soldering iron so I didn't bother with the connectors, and I cut the pins off the stock ESC.
I used a stock 15T pinion on the 5150, it flies very nicely but I have no idea what the headspeed is on it.
flight time: not sure for hard 3D, I flew for 3.5 minutes and put back just over 500 into the 800 mah battery, but it was not hard 3D. more like soft 3D, some gentle aileron tictocs and big rainbows flips, rolls. I wanted to go easy on the new motor until I get used to it.
I'm running a shallow V curve 100 - (60 to 90) - 100, I'm still playing around with it. I haven't tried a flat 100% curve yet but I suspect it would be fine.
others have had the motor a lot longer than me but this is what I've seen from a whopping one day of flying with it. ;)

I have the 5150 motor in my 200 sd version. I am running the 15/10 pinion and the stock esc on a 2s 850 Kong pack. This thing has got crazy power. I tached the headspeed and at 87.5% throttle it was 4520. 6 1/2 minutes of mostly slow ff and hovering practice and I put back 620 - 650 mah. No heating issues or vibrations. My throttle curves are Norm - 0,40,65,85,100. Idle up 1 - 77.5, 72.5, 67.5, 72.5, 77.5 and Idle 2 - 100, 92.5, 87.5, 92.5, 100

Ok, I think I'll get one. Hopefully I can get about 3,5 to 4 minutes per battery!
Thanks again.

Did you see the video with Bert K flying in the backyard? I think he said to only punish the bird for 3 minutes because the battery gets hot.

Hi,
yes, I saw the video. But I'm not Bert Kammerer. My flying is a little bit softer. So I expect a slightly longer flight time.

I just got my 5150 and after cutting ad soldering the ends I realized the motor mounts are too small. How did you install the motor with the smaller mount?
Thanks

Yeah the holes don't line up. I took the middle frame (the one the motor screws to) out and drilled a couple of new holes. I positioned it so that I could use four screws but only had to drill two new holes.

I was planning on picking one of these motors up, but I think I'll wait until I get some stick time on my 200 before I go making any major upgrades. Are there any major benefits that this motor would have for a newbie?

More power. It keeps you on your toes.

mate, u use the same pitch curve for all three throttle curve setting?

Idle1 and idle2 pitch curves are the same, linear. Why do you ask?
im just taking it as a reference or starting pointing for my yet to fly 200!
thanks :cheers

Cool no problem. I was curious cause I've never seen that asked before.
