Yes, yes, all us guys want it... MORE POWER!!! So i got it, and now Im having a small issue...

I up graded from the stock 420 outrunner to an align 430XL 3700KV with a 35A speed control. I didnt have a 10T or 11T pinion available, so i threw in a 12t (what i had on hand) and now after 3 minutes of flight time, the battery (2100mah thunder power) was at 190 degrees and the motor was at 150. the battery has been the same since, so i ordered 2 25c 2200mah thunder power V2's. Could some of my over heating problems be due to gearing?

Sounds like a mini Cooper with a NASCAR engine plant!

You are pulling some serious amps through that controller to get those temps. If it is a high quality motor, it should handle the 150. As for the batteries, number of cycles will be way down at those temps regardless of battery quality and rating.

Do you know headspeeds you are getting? It must take off like a rocket with a high pitch curve.

With this battery, It sounds just about where it should be speed wise, but my 2100 is fairly old and doesnt have the spunk of a new battery. Im not gonna be able to see what i can do till the v2s come in. It sounds like with the 11T ill get about a 6% power increase over the 420h (if my math is right). Ill Definetly have a video or 2 and a full report for all of you out with your rotor's in the clouds.

Higher gearing always puts more strain on things and lower gearing makes things run cooler (less strain).
