Can you run an 8900G on 6V?

I know that it says you shouldn't run anything but 4.8V but I've seen a lot of people overvolting a lot of servos. Is anyone running the 8900G on 6V, has anyone had problems with overvolting an 8900G?

Using it as a tail servo from a v-bar. I'll step it down if I have to I'm just interested in opinions on this.

One of the guys tried it for a little while by accident until he got a step down. He flew it maybe 5 times at 6 volts and the servo got really hot by the end of each flight. That's when he started asking around and realized he needed the step down.
