Hey, I just bought a 401 for my trex 450se. I am using T6EXHP radio. I need some help figuring out how to set my D/R and EPA for my heli. I have watched all the finless vids but I didn’t find answers in them (not that they should of been since these Q's are quit specific).

Things I would like help to understand are:

1.what D/R should i have on CH 4? And do i adjust servo travel with CH4 D/R or with the 401 limit pot?

2.at the moment i have EPA ch4 100% and D/R 140%. when im set up like this, I get 100% servo throw at only 50% stick movement http://static.rcgroups.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif

but when i have EPA 45% and D/R still at 140%, i get 100% servo throw at 100% stick so its working like it should. This problem starts from 50% EPA and up getting progressively worse as the % is raised. when i start lowering the EPA % below 50%, I get less servo throw acting just like D/R http://static.rcgroups.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif

in my gut feeling, I believe this might all be normal though since EPA (from my understanding) only controls the speed of the piro so less EPA would = less servo throw...?

ANY help would be Greatly appreciated! http://static.rcgroups.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif

thanks in advance,
Jakub

1) Assuming 4 is the rudder stick, suggest leaving the D/R at 100% both ways so it has no effect (adjust later according to preference). Servo travel is set by the gyro limit pot.

2) The gyro gain channel controls whether its in rate mode or AVCS mode. In rate mode, reducing the EPA will eventually reduce servo travel. In AVCS it won't. See the manual and check the red LED. Suggest using only the AVCS side of gain. In AVCS mode the CH 4 EPA will set the max piro "setpoint".

Side note: Double check that the tail blades move in the correct direction when you rotate the heli on the bench (if it's, backwards it will piro uncontrollably).
