I had a pretty decent nose forward crash in the belt not too long ago...tore up a few parts but nothing major. Got her all fixed up again, and noticed the battery has a bump in the front from the crash. It's not bad, but it did take a bit of a punch. I have the cheap ass charger that comes with the belt, so I can't really check the battery. I've noticed since I fixed the heli that I'm only getting about 7-8 minutes flight time then it wont lift itself. Before, it was much longer than that. Is it pretty easy to damage these lipos?

It is indeed possible to damage the batteries with impact, but it is not that easy. Do you have a picture of the bat? Also you should check whether the heli spins as smooth as it used to, more friction cause less flight time...

no friction. Everything is very smooth. I'll post a pic of the battery shortly.

here you can see towards the front it's bend inwards a little bit.

You shouldnt be getting more than 7-8 mins anyway from an esky battery. When you say you run it until it wont lift off, this is not a good thing for lipos. They should be not run below 80% discharge of the pack. If you get a better charger you will be able to see what you are putting back in when charging. I run mine on a timer but before I had the better charger wrecked a couple of batteries by flying until it wouldnt lift off any further.
I have seen batteries fly with worse damage but I would watch it and see if there is any change.
I have been flying with my current batteries now for about 50 flights and havent noticed any less flight time since using the batteries this way.
You may have stuffed the pack in the crash, so be careful with it.

Don't use it anymore, it is now a fire hazard !

with stock battery 6-8 minutes is absolutely normal.. if you were flying long than that you were overdischarging the lipo, in which case its not the crash that is giving you shorter flying times its how you used the battery.

jlira, next time you get a battery you should time it for about 8 mins max. Once the 8 mins are up you should land the heli. You shouldn't wait for the power drop because it is bad for the battery. But don't worry we have all made this mistake:P Some are lucky and their batts are fine but others like your self have been unlucky and they have puffed.

Yeah, 8 mins flying. 10 -12 mins hovering.
