I often get people asking about using a jet engine to power helicopters, and although the engine mentioned isn't one of ours, the answer is the same whatever brand you are using.

The P80 is a thrust engine. These are intended for jet planes, where the thrust of the engine pushes the plane along. You need a means of converting the thrust to rotary power for a helicopter and that means a lot of extra equipment, either a second stage with gearbox or a modification to the shaft and a system of belts and gears. Although the PHT heli turbines are based on JetCat's 80 size engine I'm sure it isn't possible for customers to convert the engine themselves and buy all the necessary gears, belts etc. from JetCat.

The only sensible way of converting a thrust engine into a helicopter one is to sell one and buy the other.
