I am new at scale heli just would like to know if there is a major difference in handling
between a normal 2 blade head and a scale 5 blade head.

Sup Checkride,

I've not built of flown one myself but I do remember reading about it :YeaBaby:
Here's a thread where Dennis over at DeeTee hobbies put a 5 blade head on a trex 600 e, as the mechanics for a md 500. IIRC, they had a helitronix unit AND gy240's on the cyclic to get the setup dialed in, but they said it flew not all that differently than a flybar'd head other than it had a great deal more lift and cyclic authority.

U referring to normal 2 blade head with flybar+paddles or 2 bladed flybarless?

thanks

i am referring to normal 2 blade head with flybar + paddles compared to a 4 or 5 blade head. I am looking at a 5 blade head for trex 450se on a MD500 body

I have to chime in here, A 5 blade Head will NEVER fly like a Flybarred Head!! With that said, with a proper setup it will fly nice but you will have to compinsate for little things. A Helitronix mixer will help with the Phasing and you have the option for adding gyros. (I only use one on the Elevater, Rate mode ONLY!!!) Really not that hard to fly just different. Best advice I can give is once your setup is good in hover just fly it, get used to how it works and the few odd quirks it has. After a while it will be second nature and all is good.
Get yourself a good head like the OF Heads and a set of HEAVY blades .. again like the OF blades :)

Fly It!! Never know untill you try it!!
