Why are you selling it? Are you getting a new heli or are you quitting?

Hi Jonny...definitely not getting out of the hobby. I love RC helicopters! I'm selling it because I prefer the longer flight times and stability of gas helis. I'm no pro by all means, and for me the bigger helis are a lot easier to fly. I don't think there's anything wrong with the electrics but to me the bigger helis are more enjoyable. I feel more in control with them. Also, there's a nice field for flying but it's a ways from here and I get more flight time in with gas vs electric. I can post up pics of my belt anyone is interested. I'm not selling the battery with it because it has a bump in it and may be dangerous to continue using. Again, I'm not knocking anyone here for having electric I think they are both really fun.

How long to gas helicopters last for compared to nitro ones?

I've never flown gasoline helis but I wouldn't mind having one. . By gas I was referring to nitro. A tank will go for about 18-20 minutes with a 30 size nitro heli if you're just putting around like I do. As with anything else, runtime is less if you fly more aggressive. Once your Tx/Rx are charged up, you can go thru several tanks without a battery recharge, which makes for a whole lot more flying time.

Yeah, to fill a tank takes seconds. My third heli will be a trex 600 nitro. But my next heli is going to be a trex 500. I am hoping to get it for my birthday:D I am guessing a gas/petrol helicopter would last longer than nitro.

Have you checked to make sure you can get Nitro? There's been quite a shortage lately. You might want to hang on to your Belt until the shortage is over.

Whats up with the shortage just out of curiosity.

From what the guys at my LHS tell me, China produces most of the nitro and they've shut down the plants for the Olympics. Some say it's to prevent a terrorist attack on the plants, others say that it's an attempt to clear up some of the air pollution before the Olympics begin. Either way it's getting pretty hard to find the nitro fuel for planks and helis.

Wow that like really sucks for nitro flyers. You'd think they would of sent out a surplus to last the duration or something.

I broke down and bought a 2200mAh battery for it. I think the flight times were really hindered by the battery being slightly damaged. I got kinda pissed, because it wasn't 8-10 minutes of good power then stop like usual.. it was kind of weak power the whole time from that battery. We'll see how it flies with the new battery, I'll probably end up keeping it. :fly

the nitro stuff is all hype and BS to be honest. A couple of brands and shops are unable to get certain types of 30% nitro, but fuels like magnum etc will not notie any difference - and thats the best fuel
There is plenty of fuel to go around everyone during the china shortage, but people have been rushing out and buying everything the possibly can to last and wiping out the stores. Its crazy - everything will be fine an a few months! All its doing is bumping up the price.
I'm buying as i need it.

I have loads of nitro fuel in my garage. We bought it a few weeks ago because we was gunna start up the old trainer plane but there were problems starting it lol. Nitro engines are a pain to start especially old ones.
