Can someone recommend me a good tail rudder servo for my Gaui200, other than the 3154? I had that for only 2 weeks and it burned out! :arggg:

Then i tried to use a spare HS45 as a rudder servo but my tail doesn't seem to hold very well with it. So now i am looking for a better alternative and i need your recommendations.

I am using the following config :
Z-power 4850 motor, HS45 for cyclics, 401 gyro and belt driven tail.

Thanks!

I have heard - no personal experience - that the 3100 that often comes bundled with the 2100T gyro should be a better alternative.

The logictech is a great tail servo. I have 5 of them.

Will the Logitech 3100 work with the 401? Doesn't it have a different frame rate or something?

If the 3154 will work with it then it should. It has the same frame width as the 3154, 3153, 9253,9254,9257,& 9650 Maybe someone who has used that combination will chime in.

anyone know where can I buy the 3100 servo without 2100T gyro? I want to use this servo with DS-760. Thanks:noteworthy

I can't get it to work, i ask the same question in the 450 section but no one replied, when i move the rudder far left or right servo doesn't move that far, but when i hook it up on a diff channel it moves all the way.

Which tell me it must be the frame rate, thats the only thing i can think off.

Check the limit pot on the 401?

already did that, but when i put it on diff channel it work fine, which means the gyro can't speak to that servo

Thanks

Initially I was going to recommend an SJM servo the SDG401 because I have one on my Diablo tail and it is the same size as the Logictech. They are actually made by the same manufacturer. It's essentially the same servo. RC-TEK is where I found mine but I knew they were out of stock on a lot of the stuff they sold 6 months ago. So I checked and sure enough they don't even list that servo on their website any more. the gears are still available but no servo. They still have the cyclic version the SDG-402 which is a great cyclic servo for 450's. Since they didn't sell it anymore I didn't mention it in my original post. But all day I kept thinking I had seen another version of basically the same servo but I couldn't remember anything else about it. This has worried the $hit out of me. I checked around and finally found it. The Robbe FS61BB is another version of the same servo. They are all identical accept for the little label on the servo. I looked and couldn't find it even offered anywhere. In my attempts to locate the Robbe I discovered yet a 4th version of this feakin servo the Inolab HGD201HB and it's only $22.95. It's basically the Logictech servo for 22.95 which is an outstanding value. The place I found is out of stock. You can see it here http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewIteit m.asp?idProduct=5195&Product_Name=HGD_digital_201_Carbon_Gear_BB_Alloy_-_9.1g_/_.07s_/_.9kgI

I know you're saying so why is he rambling on about three servos that are essentially a Logictech if the Logictech doesn't work with a 401. That's because the Logictech is the only one that won't work with a 401. The other three will work with a 401. I knew my SJM would work with a 401 hince my initial recommendation. Come to find out Logictech wanted exclusivity with their servo/gyro combo so there is something to do with a different neutral point with the Logictech and it not being compatible with a "direct on" gyro.

So I would have to recommend the Inolab servo if Hobby City can get you one. I did not persue alternate sources for the Inolab.

Hi Jetleaf, thanks for the recommendation. Unfortunately, HobbyCity is out of stock on the HGD201 servo. Any idea where else can i order this little guy online?

JR have a new digital servo out which is a nice size for the 200, I 've been using one for a while now and I'm very pleased with it... its a DS380G, very fast and designed for tail use on heli's

What about the spektrum DSP60 servo? Are they junk?

Anyone tried this one?

What about the Airtronics 94761Z Micro Digital servo?

I have one Gaui 200 that has DSP60 servos. The DSP servo work good but you get a bad one every now and then that has the "gitters". I have seven of them and three out of seven are bad straight from the package.

as I understand it, the one by hobbycity will not work with the 401 in digital mode, I even asked the manufacturer directly.
