Looking to buy a Logo 600 kit in the next month or so and transfer all the equipment over to it from my Logo 20. However, I've searched this and 'other' forums and can't find what the differences are between the DX and the 3D kits. I'm planning to use the heli mostly for AP work, so I'm not interested in the 3D capabilities, but if paying the extra will get me 'upgrades' that would be useful, then I'll willingly pay it. TIA!

Hi, I have a logo 20 also, my guess the difference between the 600 3D and DX,
is the carbon tail gear.
If you just fly around like I do with my Logo 20, you can get the DX, looks like they both have the same frame.
I would like to upgrade to the 600 also, the problem I have is my Logo 20 can fly 30-40 mins on a charge, and I dont think I am going to get that out of a 600.
I am using a hacker C50 13XL with 2 tp-8000ma 4S4P packs in pararell 14.8 volts
this gives a long flight time, plus there is plenty of energy for landing lights and navigation lights.

I "THINK" it the 3d kit includes a metal motor plate (thats actually pretty expensive) and a larger diameter tail boom.
I could be wrong though.

The DX has heavier paddles, different canopy design and also is missing a lot more bearings from the 3D version. There are a few other changes as well. Download both manuals from mikado and have a look

If it were me building a AP ship I'd go with the 3D because you really get a lot of upgraded stuff that's going to cost you an arm and a leg if you buy separate...... like the metal motor mount. Plus the 3D is fully ball raced and that means a smoother running heli with less wear.

in the manual it tells you the difference ... which you obviously dont have yet ;)
so ...
3d, head has four extra bearings , comes with a metal swash , carbon tail which has thrust bearings
3x, brass bushings, plastic swash , plastic tail box.
imo if you can stretch to the 3d then do it, you will have a smoother longer lasting heli

Thanks chaps! That more or less confirmed what I'd found since I made the original post. Looks like the 3D has hardened mainshaft and 25mm diameter boom, too, though I'm not sure what the DX has for those.
heliCSR - The side-mounted batteries of the Logo 20 certainly make for versatility with battery choice - maybe you could find some way to use head and tail off a DX or 3D and keep the 20 frame?

I can't speak to the 600 3d, but the 500 3d does not come with the hardened main shaft.

Also the DX is designed for 550MM-600MM rotors and the 3D is for 600MM-650MM rotors.
I bought the 600dx as I found it on offer for 1/2 the price of the 3d. I upgraded the motor mount for £20 - don't know whether it was needed, but I did. The 3d has a longer tail so you can fit larger rotors - doubtless useful for AP.
I haven't fitted a camera yet, but I would be surprised if the 3d was significantly better as an AP ship.

K - thanks for that. Where did you find the DX for 1/2 the price of the 3D?

I know at amainhobbies.com the 3D is 499 and the DX is 399, its not worth the $100 saving, you get much more for the 3D

Helicraze - not sure you're right about those prices - Amainhobbies.com lists the DX at US$400 and the 3D at US$618. So that's $220 difference - you can but a few upgrades for that amount!
Over here in Ripoff U.K., the DX is selling for around GBP215 and the 3D for GBP 370 - that's GBP155 difference, or US$310!! From what I can make out, the 3D doesn't even come with the metal motor mount or counter bearing, so I'm not sure it's best value as far as I'm concerned.

Hi, you need to put the item in your CART then it will show the correct price. Most of the prices are MAP (manufactures advertised price) but when you add it too the cart its discounted.
I just got the 3D for 499 from them. It does have metal motor mount, they stopped putting counterbearing in.
K - thanks for that. Where did you find the DX for 1/2 the price of the 3D?
I bought mine from Revolution Models (UK) for about £200 versus nearly £400 for the 3D. But it was on offer - reduced from £250 at the time IIRC.
