Wed, night I strip the main gear in my 550. I get the order out that night so ReadyHeli has it first thing in the morning. It's been taking 2 days for the parts to get here via Priority Mail so I figure express has to be faster. This way I can get it Friday and fly this weekend. Wrong!

ReadyHeli did great, got it shipped by noon. As usual, I used my work address so I would be sure it got delivered. Post Office dropped the ball and didn't deliver it Friday..

Here's the best part. It's at the Post Office, but I can't get it because it has to be delivered to an address. Since no one is at work to receive it, they won't deliver until Monday. Bureaucrats at work.:badair:

bro with your power mad set up you should sit down with a calculator and work out what size pinion you would need to run a 61 front gear....minimize the load on your gearing for the same head speed

Well it's a good weekend to not worry about it too much as it's raining like the end of the world in Ohio anyway! Bummer but count you're blessings, at least it's not a 70 degree, Sunny and no wind kind of weekend when you don't have the parts you need!! ;)

I did that to myself early in the season, I needed ONE little part to put my T-Rex back together on a perfect weekend when I had the rare option of actual time to fly; and I couldn't get to the store to get it, AHAHAHH!!! I now travel with an entire 'stockpile' of parts on hand to avoid this from happening again; not the cheapest way to do business but a lost weekend versus the outlay of $40-60 in extra 'you might need them, you might not' parts is worth it to me! Of course now that I say all this I'm sure to blow out the one part I do NOT have in my kit, until next time anyway...

Happy Flying, or ahh, practicing flying on your simulators as I'll be doing tonight!

Yeah - the weather here sucked today. I got in a round of golf. Even then we had a 40 minute delay. At the end of the round the wind was howling. Made things interesting.

As far as the gearing, I ordered a 17T and 18T pinion with the Revco 68T main gear. The 18T should be about right. I should be able to pull 2500 rpm on 80-85% throttle. I'm thinking about setting it up in gov mode. so I'll need to see if I can get the rpm I want at 80% throttle. Will be flying Monday or Tuesday.
