Can you guys tell where I screwed up with this picture? I melted a male & female pin on the balance plugs for one of the batteries, trying to charge 2 batts as 6s
I plugged in charger to car battery first
Then power wires for the batteries
Then balance connectors, not sure what order.....Does the order matter? I have re-read the instructions but not sure what I did, any suggestions?

The order is not the problem, polarity is. The serial deans cable is backwards.
Battery 1 is the top battery has the neg pin on the balancer in the pin 1 position. Meaning that the negative lead on battery one must go to the charger.

The negative lead on pack one goes to the positive lead of pack 2. That will cause a short and possible battery failure. I would definately check both packs!!

Thanks, I knew this was the place to ask.
So, it's the -/+ relationship between the balance connectors & main battery wires that has to match up, becasue there is only one way to pulg in the main pack plugs right??
Both packs read the same total voltage, I guess when I fix the connector plug, I check the individual voltage to know if the pack is bad? No swelling so far....

Always check the polarity (color) of the connections. That way you avoid any costly mistakes!! Red to Red, Black to Black!!
If the batteries read good and hold a charge with no heat / swelling, use them WITH CAUTION for a few cycles and if they hold true, you are good to go!!

I see what I did wrong now, but please pardon my ignorance.
If the blue (spliced) wire on the bridge connector is negative on batt "B" and and 1 of the positive 's on batt "A", how does the charger know to balance that one cell?
