Hi guys,

Excuse my ignorance I am a beginner at this exciting hobby. I have a belt CP with tha standard TX 0406A Mode 1. It seems more logical to me to have the Aileron and Elevator controls on one stick like the Mode 2 setup.

Can I simply buy a mode 2 TX and swop over the crystal ?

Thanks

Rob.

I do believe you should be able to open up the battery compartment on the the back of your tx and inside is a switch that goes between mode 1 and 2.

In anwser to your question, yes you can do that.
As tom was saying though there are switche in the battery comprtment but you will also need to change the throttle spring over to the other stick. There is lots posted on the subject on this and other sites.
Hope this helps. heres the link http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=68558
If you are going to get another tx better off getting a better one than the stock one if you are thinking of progressing in the hobby.

Thanks guys,

Appreciate your help, and your quick replies. Sure will be using this site heaps.

Will have a crack at the modification. Do you guys find mode 2 to be the norm ?

Cheers

Rob

In my area most of the guys are mode 2. I just happen to think like you it makes more sense to me. But I know of places where most are mode1. There is no advantage from what I can tell to either way, except in your own thinking. I found it helpful to be the same as the experienced flyers around here so they could test fly my helis after a build and see if i'd done it all right.
It is very much a personal choice.
